11 cars with mega discounts in April 2017

The first quarter of the year is slow when it comes to sales. Most people are more bothered about the year ending and other expenditure. This is the time when there are great deals in the market, since dealers want to clear their 2016 inventory. Here are 11 cars that are on offer with massive discounts:

Chevrolet Trailblazer

Rs 4 lakhs

The Trailblazer has been on sale for close to a year and half now, yet it hasn’t done anything substantial in terms of sales. The Trailblazer is only on offer in 2wd with automatic transmission. While it was competitively priced earlier, the price drop to Rs 19.95 lakhs now has made it a steal.

It comes in only the top spec LTZ trim and power comes from a 2.8 liter engine that produces 197 Bhp and 500 Nm. The only downside to the Trailblazer is the interior quality and the lack of a 4wd variant.

Hyundai Santa Fe

Rs 2.5 lakhs

Hyundai’s flagship SUV, the Santa Fe has not been topping sales charts. While it does come with a 4wd model, it is more of a soft roader than an out-and-out SUV, unlike the Fortuner and the Endeavour. Hyundai decided to price the Sante Fe at Rs 29 lakhs ex showroom for the base model, which makes it expensive, when you look at the competition. Now though, with the Rs 2.5 lakh discount, the SUV makes more sense. It can be had in 2wd auto, 2wd manual or 4wd auto. Power comes from a 2.2 liter engine that produces 194 Bhp and 437 Nm (421 Nm on the manual).

Ssangyong Rexton

Rs 2.5 lakhs

Mahindra’s acquired brand, Ssangyong, has only one product on sale in India, the Rexton and that hasn’t been doing very well. The company is looking to liquidate stocks and if you are in the market for a large full-size SUV, this could be a good choice at the price point.

The Rexton comes in 3 variants, prices starting at Rs 21.06 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. All 3 are powered by the same 2.7 liter diesel engine, however they come in various states of tune. The base and middle spec is 162 Bhp and 340 Nm and are on offer only in manual. The top end comes in automatic only and produces 184 Bhp and 402 Nm.

Skoda Rapid DSG

Rs 1.5 lakhs

Skoda unveiled the new Rapid late last year. While the company is selling close to 1000 units of the new Rapid since, the company still has stock of the 2016 Rapid as well as the older pre-facelift Rapid. The company is offering a discount of Rs 1.5 lakhs on them which is a good deal, given that the Rapid is well priced in itself. It comes with the option of a DSG too, which makes it convenient to drive.

Nissan Sunny

Rs 1.35 lakhs

The Sunny is one car that should be bought if you are looking for rear seat space. It has loads of that on offer. Even though the vehicle is very comfortable, it failed to set the sales charts on fire. It comes with the option of both a petrol and diesel engine option. The petrol being a 1.5 liter unit makes 98 Bhp and 134 Nm, where as the diesel being the 1.5 liter K9K engine producing 84 Bhp and 200 Nm. The petrol can be had with both a manual and a CVT.

VW Vento

Rs 1.2 lakhs

The Vento has recently been updated and now features the newer turbo that produces 108 Bhp, as opposed to the 103 Bhp the previous one produced. However, there has been no change in the looks of the car. The company still has 2016 cars on offer and it can be had at a discount of Rs 1.2 lakhs, based on the variant. The Vento is on offer in 2 petrols and one diesel engine. The petrol is either the 1.6 liter MPi unit or the 1.2 liter TSI unit, both producing 103 Bhp. The 1.6 comes only in manual where as the TSI comes mated to a 7-speed DSG. The diesel on the other hand is the same 1.5 liter TDI unit which can be had in both manual and DSG trim levels.
