The South Korean automotive manufacturer Kia’s Indian subsidiary Kia India recently revealed that just in the first month of deliveries the brand has delivered a total of 152 units of the all-new fully electric crossover EV6 in India. The company stated that during the festive season of Diwali in October of this year it managed to deliver 152 units to awaiting customers. Kia launched the EV6 in India four months ago and at the time it had allocated 100 units for the entire nation.
Kia introduced the EV6 in India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) with the plans of selling a limited 100 units in India as mentioned above. But to its surprise, the South Korean carmaker received more than 355 bookings on the day of its launch alone. And because of this, the company is planning to import additional cars to India.
With a long-range, zero-emissions powertrain, 800V ultra-fast charging, and a gorgeous aesthetic package, the new Kia EV6 has joined the crossover SUV market. In terms of appearance, Kia equipped the EV6 with two LED headlights and some modern-looking DRLs up front. In a design innovation akin to Kia’s electric tiger-nose grille, the lights also combine into the vehicle’s digital tiger face. A bit lower still, an air inlet causes the car’s front end to be clearly enlarged. The EV6 will be available from Kia in five hues. There is Moonscape, Runway Red, Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, and Yacht Blue.

As for performance, the RWD version of the EV6 gets a single motor at the rear axle. It produces 229 Ps of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The all-wheel-drive version produces 325 Ps of max power and 605 Nm of peak torque. Kia claims that EV6 can hit 100 kmph in 3.5 seconds. And for its driving range & battery size, it will come equipped with a 77.4 kWh battery pack and The driving range is 528 km as per the WLTP test. The charging times depend on the type of charger that you are using. If you use a 350 kW fast charger then the battery can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 18 minutes. But if you use a 50 kWh charger then it will take 73 minutes. In the foreign markets, Kia also offers a smaller 58 kWh battery pack.
Recently Kia India also released its sales figures for the month of October. The company stated that in October 2022, it sold 23,323 units. With two months left in the calendar year 2022, the firm has thereby exceeded the milestone of 2 lakh unit sales, as opposed to a sale of 181,583 units in the previous year. Kia India reported a rise of 43% year over year. The Seltos, which sold 9,777 units last month, had the highest sales for the brand, followed by the Sonet and Carens, which sold 7,614 and 5,479 units, respectively. The Carnival sold 301 units last year, while 152 buyers received the EV6 at their residences around the nation.

Commenting on the achievement of this milestone, Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing, Kia India, said, “The demand that all Kia products have managed to generate in the Indian market, signifies exciting times for the brand. A strong market response to EV6 shows the strength of the brand Kia in the premium and luxury space as well.”
