1999 model Hindustan Motors Contessa modified to look like an American muscle car [Video]

Hindustan Motors Contessa is one of the popular cars among car collectors in Indian market. It is based on Vauxhall VX series sedan and is often called vintage car although it is exactly not one. Because of its boxy design, it is often considered as a muscle car but, it is actually a regular sedan. Due to the same reason, it is a popular choice among buyers who like to modify cars. There are several examples of modified Hindustan Motors Contessa in India. Many of them are modified to look like classic Ford Mustang. Here we have a modified Contessa sedan that has been modified to look like an American muscle car.

The video has been uploaded by modified wheelz on their YouTube channel. In this video, vlogger talks about all the modifications that are done to the Contessa. First thing that one would notice about this sedan is the Red paint job. The original colour of the car was White which is commonly seen colour on Contessa. The Red paint job is giving it a sporty look. Coming to the other modifications, the front fascia of the sedan has been customised. The stock front grille has been removed and replaced with an aftermarket all black grille with mesh type design. The grille is quite deep and number plate is placed in the lower part of the grille.

The stock headlamps in the Contessa were also removed as part of the modification. They were replaced with two round aftermarket projector LED lamps. The area around the headlamp gets a gloss black garnish which adds to the sporty look of the car. The bumper of this Contessa has been customised as well. It now comes with a mesh type black garnish around the aftermarket LED fog lamps. The Hindustan Motors badge has been removed from the front completely and the lower part of the bumper now gets a lower lip or skirting to give it  sporty look.

Coming to the side profile, the original 13 inch steel rims in the Contessa have been replaced with 17 inch aftermarket alloy wheels. The owner has opted for alloys from BBS brand which have a retro look to them. The wheels do not looks extremely large and fit well inside the wheel well area. Other than this, the ORVMs on the Contessa are units borrowed from Bajaj Avenger motorcycle and there are chrome lower window garnishes on it as well.  Moving to the rear, there are not many modifications done to it. The rectangle shaped stock tail lamps in the Contessa have been replaced with two round aftermarket units. There is a Hindustan badging on the tailgate as well. Other than this, no major exterior modifications are done to the car.

Moving in, the owner of this Contessa has not many changes to the cabin. He simply replaced the stock dashboard in the sedan with a custom made unit with carbon fibre finish to it. Other than this, the steering, seat and other elements including the engine on this Contessa are stock. Overall, the car looks neat and does look like an American muscle car from some angles.
