Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the most popular mid size hatchback in the country. It has been on sale in the country for over 15 years and is still very popular among buyers. Over the years, Maruti has made several changes to this hatchback to keep it fresh. It is one of those cars that is loved by customers from all age groups. For youngsters, Swift is a mod friendly car while for other it a good family car that offers decent fuel efficiency. Here we have a first generation Maruti Swift that has been completely restored to look like a brand new car.
The video has been uploaded by BROTOMOTIV on their YouTube channel. The video starts by showing how the car looked when it arrived at the garage. The car looked in bad condition and there were several minor and major scratches and dents on the car. The video does mention that the car was involved in several minor accidents. paint job on several panels had also started to fade away.

They start by working on the dents. All the minor and major dents are corrected and once that is done, these portions are applied with putty filler to give the body lines an even look. The excess filler was later sanded away and after the putty work was done, a coat of primer was sprayed on the car completely. Doors, bonnet, door handles were all taken down and a coat of anti-rust coating was also sprayed under the car.
The car was then taken to the paint booth and a shade of Red which is seen in current generation Swift is sprayed on to the car as per customer request. It is slightly different from the Red shade that was originally available with first gen Swift. The doors and other body panels that were removed earlier were also painted in Red shade. A layer of clear coat was then sprayed on to the car to give it a gloss finish.
The video does mention that some of the panels were in really bad condition and they had to replace it. They replaced front and rear bumper, fog lamp housing, rubber beading to give it a new look. The bumper was also removed and painted separately. No changes or customisation were done inside this Maruti Swift. The exterior however looks extremely good. The work done on this Swift looks so neat that it feels like the car had just rolled out of the production line.
Maruti Suzuki Swift is still one of the popular hatchbacks in its segment. Maruti discontinued the diesel engine as part of BS6 transition. Earlier in 2021, Maruti launched an updated version of the hatchback with more power. The engine used in the 2021 version of Maruti Swift is the 1.2 litre DualJet engine that generates 89 Ps and 113 Nm of peak torque. Maruti also made some minor cosmetic changes to the car to differentiate it from older version. It also comes with idle start stop system to improve the overall fuel efficiency.
