2012 Global Ford Fiesta: Understanding the new variant line up!

Ford India launched the Fiesta petrol automatic variants yesterday starting at Rs. 8.99 lakh for the base variant and Rs. 9.73 lakh for the top-end variant.

 

Besides introducing automatic variants, Ford has also silently removed two variants: the Trend and Titanium from the Fiesta’s model line up. Instead, the company has introduced the ‘Ambiente’ variant and has retained the Style and the Titanium Plus variants. Let us take a quick look at the changes made in the Fiesta’s model line up.

Ambiente

The Ambiente variant is new and has been positioned below the Style variant. The Ambiente variant comes with a driver side airbag but does not have a passenger airbag or a music system.

Style

The new Style variant of Fiesta has all the features of the Ambiente variant and in addition gets fog lamps, music system, ESP and cruise control. The old Style variant did not have cruise control.

Titanium Plus

The Titanium Plus variant of Fiesta has all the features of the Style variant and in addition gets, alloy wheels, electrically foldable ORVMs and reverse parking sensors.

Fiesta Petrol manual variants – Ambiente and Titanium Plus

When Ford launched the new Fiesta petrol manual version last year the company offered the car in four variants: Style, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Plus. From that original line up, the Fiesta Style Fiesta Trend and Fiesta Titanium have been removed now. Instead, the company offers only two variants: Fiesta 1.5 P Ambiente (Rs. 7.23 lakh) and Fiesta 1.5 P Titanium Plus (Rs. 9.43 lakh). The Ambiente is priced Rs. 1 lakh lower than the earlier entry level Fiesta Trend.

Fiesta Petrol automatic variants – Style and Titanium Plus

Coming to the automatic variants, Fiesta automatic is available in two variants: Fiesta 1.5 P AT Style (Rs.8.99 lakh) and Fiesta 1.5 P AT Titanium Plus (Rs. 9.70 lakh).

Fiesta Diesel Variants – Style and Titanium Plus

During the launch of Ford’s global Fiesta last year, the diesel version was offered in four trims: Style, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Plus. But now, the company offers the diesel version only in two variants: Fiesta 1.5 D Style (Rs. 8.99 lakh) and Fiesta 1.5 D Titanium Plus (Rs. 10.42 lakh). Price on the diesel Style has been reduced.
