Snapshot: General Motors India has given the Beat hatchback a makeover. The facelifted version of the car has been launched at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. Prices of the facelifted Beat range between 4.06 and 6.1 lakh rupees, ex-showroom Delhi.
Bookings for the new car are now open with deliveries to begin in the next few weeks. Apart from cosmetic changes, the 2014 Chevrolet Beat facelift remains mechanically unchanged. The car is available with petrol, petrol-LPG dual fuel and turbo diesel engine options. All engines get a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard kit.
The cosmetic changes on the 2014 Beat are quite mild. The front end of the car gets a new chrome grille and a reprofiled bumper. The rear of the car gets new tail lamps and a revised bumper. This is pretty much what’s new in terms of the facelifted Beat’s exteriors.
The petrol powered Beat retains the 1.2 liter SMARTECH engine that outputs 80 Bhp of peak power and 108 Nm of peak torque. This naturally aspirated-4 cylinder engine can also be specified with a CNG-Petrol dual fuel option. The diesel powered Beat gets a 936 cc-3 cylinder turbo diesel motor that outputs 58 Bhp-150 Nm.
