2014 Skoda Rapid Ultima sedan back with promotional offers

The 2014 Skoda Rapid sedan’s Ultima variant is once again available with a slew of promotional offers valid upto 31st May. Skoda India is known to run cheeky ad campaigns and the latest one to promote the Rapid is no different. The Czech automaker talks about “5 years of peace of mind” for Rapid buyers, and this coming at a time when a new government has just assumed office, seems in-sync with the times, and well cheeky if you are in the opposite camp.

Moving on, the C-Segment sedan gets five promotional offers, including attractive finance schemes and maintenance packages. The Ultima edition of the Rapid adds five additional features and is available in Ambition Plus and Elegance trims.

The five additional features on the Rapid Ultima include stripes for the top and flanks of the car. These stripes look like GT stripes and give the Rapid a sporty look. The other four features are: GPS navigation system, rear parking sensors, Art leather seat covers and door sill mouldings.

In terms of the promotional offers on the Rapid sedan, the car other four offers, apart from the five featured added through the Ultima package include a 5 year finance scheme at an interest rate of 7.99 %, 5 years maintenance package at a subsidized price, a 5 year extended warranty and a 5 year road side assistance package.

The Ultima edition of the car is sold with 1.6 liter MPI petrol and TDI turbo diesel engine options. Both engines are rated at 103 Bhp of peak power while peak torque figures vary. The petrol motor outputs 153 Nm while the diesel engine manages 250 Nm. Five speed manual gearboxes are standard on the petrol and turbo diesel engines.

Skoda also offers a 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox on the petrol version of the Rapid. Unlike the Volkswagen Vento, with which the Skoda Rapid shares its platform, the car doesn’t come with a turbo petrol engine-DSG dual clutch automatic gearbox combination.

However, such a combination is expected to be added in the facelifted version of the Rapid, due later this year. The facelifted Rapid is also expected to replace its 1.6 liter TDI diesel engine with a new 1.5 liter TDI motor, which will also be offered on the Polo and the Vento.
