The 2015 Ford Endeavour/Everest SUV will be revealed in all its glory tomorrow, ahead of the 2014 Guangzhou Motor Show in China. The 2015 Endeavour will arrive into India next year, as Ford’s flagship vehicle in the country. The Endeavour sold in India will use the CKD assembly route. In the run up to the official unveil of the 2015 Endeavour’s production version, Ford has released a video teaser of the SUV.
Meanwhile, new details of the 2015 Endeavour have been revealed by GoAuto. The SUV will continue to operate on a ladder frame chassis, with the base platform being that of the Ford Ranger pick up truck. A key change on the 2015 Endeavour will be rear suspension set up, which now used a torsion beam and coil springs, instead of the previous generation model’s leaf spring layout.
Three new features will make it to the 2015 Endeavour SUV. Tail gate opening will gain gesture control in addition to the electric boot lid release. Adaptive cruise control and autonomous braking will be offered on top-end variants of the 2015 Endeavour sold in specific markets. A long range fuel tank will be offered in specific markets. On the India-spec 2015 Endeavour, new 2.2 liter-4 cylinder and 3.2 liter-5 cylinder turbo diesel engines are likely to make the cut into production.
Other new bits on the 2015 Endeavour SUV include all new interiors and a terrain response system that is said to be similar to the one on Land Rover SUVs. In India, Ford will sell the 2015 Endeavour as a 7 seat luxury SUV that is a competitor to the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and the Hyundai Santa Fe. In terms of pricing, the 2015 Endeavour is likely to be priced higher than the outgoing model. Expect ex-showroom prices of the 2015 Ford Endeavour to be pegged between 22 and 25 lakh rupees.
