Yesterday when images of the production version of the next-generation Figo (Ka in Brazil) were released. Today, images of the 2015 Figo sedan (Ka+ in Brazil) have started doing the online rounds. The Ka+ has a length of 4.2 metres in Brazil but this length will see some shortening for the Indian car market, with the Figo compact sedan ducking into sub-4 meter territory. The boot and wheelbase could be reworked to bring the length under 4 metres. There won’t be any styling changes in the Indian-spec Figo compact sedan when compared with its Brazilian sibling, the Ka+.

The Figo sedan concept was showcased at the Auto Expo 2014, in what was a global premiere for the car. Ford has tried to carry majority of the design cues of the concept guise to the production variant. However, the headlamps are now devoid of daytime running LEDs and front air dam gets revised. The front grille gets the Aston Martin-like look, which all new Ford cars have started to feature.
The dashboard seems heavily inspired from the Fiesta and EcoSport. The overall styling is distinctly Ford and the steering wheel will come shod with controls for audio and bluetooth connectivity. The new, 2015 Figo compact sedan will be replacing the Ford Classic in India. and will be positioned as a rival to the likes of the Honda Amaze, Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Xcent.
The Figo sedan is expected to get a 85 Bhp-105 Nm, naturally aspirated petrol motor that is derived from the 1 liter-3 cylinder EcoBoost engine, and a 1.5 liter, 89 Bhp-205 Nm turbo diesel motor that will also power the 2015 Figo hatchback. The car will be produced at Ford’s new Sanand factory in Gujarat. The 2015 Figo sedan will be Ford’s first entry into the sub-4 meter compact sedan segment, a segment that is booming to say the least.
