On the inside, features such as start-stop button, keyless entry, one touch up and down function for the driver’s side power window, auto folding wing mirrors, a refreshed infotainment system and reverse parking sensors are said to be the various new additions. Mechanically, the 1.2 liter K-Series petrol engine that outputs 86 Bhp-114 Nm and the 1.3 liter Fiat Multijet turbo diesel engine that makes 74 Bhp-190 Nm will be retained, along with 5 speed manual transmissions.\

A 4 speed automatic gearbox could be a new offering on the petrol powered Swift, similar to what the Dzire gets on its automatic iteration. A souped up, Swift Sport isn’t on the scheme of things for India. Top-end variants of the Swift will continue offering twin airbags and ABS+EBD. The facelifted version of the Swift is likely to see a mild, upward price revision in view of the various feature additions. The automatic version of the Swift, if made available, is likely to be offered in VXi trim.

A sporty hatchback that is loved for its punchy performance, sure footed handling and good fuel efficiency, the Swift is also India’s best selling car in the B+ hatchback segment, with monthly sales averaging a steady 15,000 units. The Swift, in its second generation, was launched in India during 2011. The latest facelift represents a mid career makeover, and the all-new, 3rd generation Swift is due to appear in 2017.
