The Jaguar XF has been in the market for quite some time now. Due to its pricing initially, it was considered as a more premium alternative to the E Class, A6 and 5 Series. This didn’t really help the XF sell as much as the competition did. At the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, Jaguar showcased the all new 2016 XF. The vehicle has been brought in for homologation and is now ready for launch soon.
The specifications of the new XF have been put up on Jaguar India’s site. According to it, the XF will be available in three trim levels, Pure, Prestige and Portfolio. All three variants will come with only rear wheel drive option.
Where the current XF has either a 3.0 liter, 2.2 liter diesel or a 2.0 liter petrol on offer, the new vehicle is expected to have an all new 2.0 liter Ingenium diesel engine. The engine produces 180 Bhp and 430 Nm. All three variants can be had with the diesel. The engine is mated to an 8 speed automatic gearbox.
For those of you who want a petrol option, Jaguar is going to have the 2.0 liter engine on offer, the same one that does duty on the XE. It produces 240 Bhp and 340 Nm. The petrol will be only available in either the Prestige or Portfolio trim level.
On the looks front, the new XF gets sharper headlamp design, a new bumper and a reworked tail lamp cluster. On the features front, the new XF is going to be getting the ‘Jaguar Drive Control’ that allows you to choose between the 4 driving modes (Eco, Dynamic, Standard, Rain/snow/ice). The base Pure trim will get an 8″ touch screen system, 17″ alloys, bi-xenon headlamps. The top spec Portfolio trim will get larger 18″ alloys.
This segment is going to see not only the launch of this vehicle, but soon Volvo will also be launching the S90 as well which is expected to take on the E Class, A6, the 5 Series and the XF.
