When Mahindra launched the new Scorpio sometime back, the pick-up form of the car was omitted from the line-up. The Scorpio Getaway, as the pick-up version is known as has been spied testing at Mumbai-Pune expressway. The pick-up was available with the old-look version of the Scorpio till now but the new pictures suggest that the company will soon launch the facelift model in the market.
The new Mahindra Scorpio has entered its third generation and has received a good response from the market. The Getaway, which is one of the few pick-ups available in the Indian market will get the new looks and the interiors of the new Scorpio.
The Getaway caught on camera had an all-new front fascia but the rear of the vehicle still adorned the lamps from the last generation of the car, unlike the new clear lens units on the new Scorpio. We believe that the car is still in the testing phase and such cosmetics will be later installed in the car.
The new version of the Scorpio Getaway also featured the Mahindra Pick-Up sticker at the rear. Mahindra markets the Bolero pick-up among other commercial pick-ups under this name, and the production version of the car may not see this badge as only low-cost commercial vehicles are reserved for this brand. The badge may also mean that the car will be exported to the international markets.
The Scorpio Getaway will get capacity of 5 people with dual cabin set-up. The interior equipment will be similar to the new Scorpio with advanced features like TPMS, controlling the infotainment over a smartphone and more. The new Getaway will get a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that generates a maximum of 120 BHP and 280 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission will be standard while the pick-up will also get shift-on-fly 4X4 drive system as an optional equipment.
