2017 Chevrolet Beat spied undisguised

2016 has been a relatively quiet year for Chevrolet. They haven’t really introduced any new product, save for the facelift of the Cruze which was minor. Yes, they did showcase a few new concepts at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, but that was about it. 2017 however will be different. The company will be launching a few new products in 2017. The all-new Beat will be one of them.

Testing for the same is already underway and the first spy shot of the car has emerged, testing without any camouflage. This gives us a clear indication of what the new Beat will look like. The Beat, sold as the Spark internationally got an update which includes new headlamps, new grill, new bumper and new fog lamp housing, all of which make the Beat more sporty and sharp to look at.

At the back, the tail lamp cluster, boot and the rear bumper have been redesigned and look fresh. The side profile remains unchanged. On the inside, the company will be offering an all-new dashboard which will include a touch screen system on the top of the line model. This one will most likely be the cheapest vehicle to get the option of Apple Car Play and Android Auto, in addition to Chevrolet’s MyLink2 system.

Under the hood, we expect the same engines to continue. Chevrolet currently offers the Beat with 2 engine options, a 1.2 liter petrol making 79 Bhp and 108 Nm and a 1.0 liter diesel engine making 57 Bhp and 150 Nm. Both come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

In addition to this, Chevrolet will also be launching a more rugged version of the Beat, christened the Beat Activ. The same will take on the likes of the Ignis and the KUV100, being a crossover. Also based on the Beat, Chevrolet will introduce an all-new compact sedan, called the Essentia. We expect Chevrolet to launch the new Trailblazer too in the Indian market next year.
