2017 Ford EcoSport available at a MASSIVE Rs 1,50,000 discount!

As the new financial year has set in, manufacturers have started offering some really lucrative discounts on the MY2017 cars that are left unsold with dealers. One such car, which is on sale with some really lucrative offers, is the MY2017 Ford EcoSport. Thanks to the kind of discounts that are being offered, the pre-facelift model is suddenly a great value-for-money option. You can really get the maximum bang for your buck by picking up one of these at the discounted rate. We explain how.

Advantages of buying MY2017 Ford EcoSport

Huge discounts on offer

The pre-facelift Ford EcoSport is on sale with discounts of up to Rs 1.5 lakh. This makes the compact SUV really great value for money. These discounts are dealer-specific and hence, vary from dealer to dealer. However, you can easily sweeten this deal even further by bargaining hard. Dealers are in a hurry to get rid of the earlier stock and hence, will probably end up giving an even higher discount.

Pre-facelift still looks fairly modern

The biggest styling change on the new EcoSport is its new front grille-bumper combo. Thanks to the updated front-end, the new EcoSport manages to look fresher and arguably a tad more stylish than the pre-facelift version. However, that doesn’t make the earlier version feel too dated. Yes, the car is few years old in the market now and doesn’t have the freshness of the new one. But even the new model will become a common sight in some time and lose some of its freshness. Hence, opting for a slightly older-looking car isn’t a bad deal at all, especially factoring in the kind of money you save.

Almost same features

The interior of the new EcoSport facelift gets a redesigned dashboard. Also, the earlier black-grey theme has been replaced with an all-black one. The biggest highlight, however, comes in the form of the new SYNC3 infotainment unit that replaces the SYNC1 system of the pre-facelift EcoSport. The new infotainment unit brings in features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. While this is a useful feature, you can still pair your phone with the earlier SYNC system using Bluetooth. Also, the pre-facelift EcoSport was among the most feature-laden cars in its segment. Hence, you can benefit from the long list of features whilst saving a lot of money on buying the pre-facelift version.

More engine options

The new EcoSport offers two 1.5-liter engines – the same TDCi Diesel and the new Petrol mill from the Dragon series. The pre-facelift EcoSport, however, was available in three engine variants – 1.5 TDCi Diesel, 1.5 TiVCT Petrol, and 1.0 EcoBoost Petrol. The 1.0-liter motor outputs as much as 125 bhp and even offers a high mileage. Moreover, the 1.5-liter Dragon engine of the new EcoSport comes mated to a torque-converter automatic transmission instead of a dual-clutch unit that was available on the earlier 1.5-liter motor. The diesel engine remains the same. So, basically, you don’t lose out on anything if you pick up a diesel variant of the pre-facelift EcoSport. Buying a petrol-sipping MY2017 EcoSport also has its benefits – you can either get a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that’s high on power and mileage or benefit from a dual-clutch gearbox that came mated to the earlier 1.5-liter petrol unit.

Downside to buying MY2017 Ford EcoSport

Frankly, there’s no real downside to buying the old EcoSport at a discounted price. You get a brand-new car for a lot less than what you’d spend on a facelifted version. Of course, you miss out on some new features and the new look. However, like we said, even the new EcoSport will soon become a common sight and won’t look as fresh. Besides, it’s fairly easy to live without features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. What really matters is that you end up saving a lot of money by buying a slightly older car. Also, you get the same Diesel motor and the same platform. You can also pick up either of the earlier petrol units and benefit at least in some areas. Overall, it’s a good deal if you can live with a slightly less modern-looking car.
