2018 all-new Maruti Swift hatchback – Gallery with official pictures

Maruti has released official pictures of the 2018 all-new Swift. The car will be launched at the Auto Expo, where its price will be announced. Bookings for the 2018 Swift are now open at 2,300 Maruti dealerships around India. Like its sibling, the Dzire, the new car will be sold through Maruti Arena showrooms instead of NEXA dealerships. The booking  cost for the new car is Rs. 11,000, and it’s fully refundable in case of cancellation. We will now walk you through the details of the car as revealed by the official pictures.

As you can see, the 2018 Swift looks very similar to the Dzire compact sedan but the amount of chrome on the hatchback is minimal. This makes the Swift look sportier. The front of the car also highlights LED DRLs that are integrated into the headlamps, which also features LED projectors. The LED projectors are a first-in-class feature in the B-Segment hatchback space.

The picture of the interiors show a grey and black dashboard, with satin inserts. The dashboard has been totally restyled. From the picture, it’s clear that the Swift will also benefit from the SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system that will have Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink smartphone integration software. The car will also offer automatic climate control.

A key detail revealed from this picture is that the new Swift will get automatic variants. The automatic gearbox will be an automated manual transmission, popularly called AMT. The AMT will be offered on both petrol and diesel engined variants of the car. This is the first time ever that the Swift gets automatic transmission options in the Indian market. The AMT option is expected increase the desirability of the Swift manyfold.

The sides of the car show diamond cut alloy wheels – again a first on the Swift range sold in India. It also gets a floating roof design like the second generation model, and integrated turn indicators on the wing mirrors. The rear
of the car shows a completely new hatch-lid and tail lamp design but Maruti is yet to release an official image of the same.
