All new Swift will get a new face. There are a new grille, new headlamps and new bumper.
The rear door handles of the Swift has been camouflaged to give it a two-door look. It also gets new alloy wheels.
The headlamps get integrated LED DRLs and projector lamps.
The cabin of all-new Swift is roomier than the current version. It gets touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too.
The all-new Swift gets automatic AMT transmission with both petrol and diesel engine options. The AMT option is available on two variants each, on petrol and diesel.
The new Swift will be available in 6 colours with the major addition being the orange shade. However, the black colour has been deleted from the 2018 Swift’s range for the Indian market.
Maruti’s SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system will finally make it to the Swift range through the all-new car. The car will get Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirrorlink smartphone infotainment options. It’ll also have voice assist.
The new Swift will get 20 mm shorter in terms of overall length, which now stands at 3,840 mm. However, wheelbase has gone up by 20 mm to 2,450 mm. Boot space has also increased by 52 liters, and now stands at 268 liters. Ground clearance of the new Swift is pegged at 163 mm.
For the first time ever, the Swift will get LED projector headlamps, a segment-best feature. It’ll also feature a new alloy wheel design. Based on the HEARTECT platform that it shares with the new Dzire and Baleno, the 2018 Swift gets upto 90 kilograms lighter than the outgoing model due to the use of lightweight, high-strength steel. The petrol model weighs 855 Kgs while the diesel is 100 kilos heavier, at 955 Kgs.
