Bajaj’s flagship, fully-faired motorcycle – the RS200, now gets a new paint scheme called racing red. The bike gets a red colour alloy wheel on the front, and a black coloured one at the rear. The bike with the new paint scheme is priced at Rs. 1.24 lakhs for the non-ABS version, and Rs. 1.36 lakhs for the ABS equipped version. The Pulsar RS200 is powered by a 200cc, liquid cooled engine that uses triple spark plug ignition.

Peak power of the fuel injected engine is rated at 23.65 Bhp while peak torque is rated at 18.6 Nm. A 6 speed manual gearbox is standard, and Bajaj Auto claims a 141 Kph top speed for the motorcycle. Bajaj also sells a street naked version of the Pulsar, dubbed the NS200. The unfaired, NS200 is much cheaper than the RS200 while sharing the same mechanicals and cycle parts.

Mr. Sumeet Narang, Vice President, Marketing, Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto, had to say this about the bike,

The Pulsar RS200 offers unparalleled design, fit and finish of the dream super sports bike and is a best seller among Indian youth. The ever growing 4500+ strong Pulsar Maniacs community and India’s biggest biking festival – The Pulsar Festival of Speed both of which are centered on Pulsar RS200 are a testament to its popularity and success.

The Pulsar RS200 offers a more relaxed riding position despite clip-on handlebars, and is meant to be a much cheaper alternative to the KTM RC200, which offers a more committed riding position and track honed dynamics. Cycle parts on the RS200 include telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear, a 300 mm disc brake at the front and a 230 mm disc brake at the rear, alloy wheels, tubeless tyres and a single channel ABS unit.
