2018 Honda Aviator (Activa-based) automatic scooter launched in India

Honda has launched the 2018 Aviator automatic scooter in India. The Honda Activa-based scooter is the man-sized alternative for those who find the Activa too petite. The 2018 Honda Aviator gets a few changes with a small price increase of Rs. 1,405. The scooter is priced at Rs. 55,157, ex-showroom Delhi, for the drum brake and steel wheel-equipped variant. There are two more variants on offer – drum brake-equipped alloy wheeled variant and a front disc brake-equipped alloy-wheeled version. All variants of the 2018 Honda Aviator come with tubeless tyres as standard. The automatic scooter competes with the TVS Jupiter and the Hero Maestro 110.

As for the feature additions on the 2018 Honda Aviator, the LED headlamp is one major addition. Other additions are a four-in-one lock, a switch to open the seat, a retractable rear hook and a daytime running LED. The scooter continues to be powered by the tried-and-tested 110-cc, four-stroke fan-cooled, single-cylinder petrol engine, which is known for its bomb-proof reliability and refinement. This engine makes 8 PS of peak power and 9 Nm of peak torque. A CVT automatic transmission is standard with this engine, which gets both kick start and electric start options as standard across the range.

Suspension components remain unchanged – telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear. The 2018 Honda Aviator gets a new paint scheme – Pearl Spartan Red. Other paint schemes on the Aviator include Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Selene Silver Metallic and Pearl Amazing White. The scooter is now available for bookings and sales across all of Honda’s dealerships in India. The Aviator is among the six automatic scooters that Honda sells in India. The other five scooters are the Grazia, the Activa-i, Activa 5G, Activa 125 and Dio.

Yadvinder Guleria, senior vice-president, Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd, said,

“Honda is leading India’s scooterisation and is continuously extending its advanced upgrades across the scooter range. Now that we have added new attractive and convenient features, the 2018 editions of the stylish Aviator are ready to hit the road with enhanced comfort.”
