Japanese automaker Isuzu has just launched the 2018 model year D-Max V-Cross pick up truck. India’s best selling lifestyle pick-up truck, the V-Cross starts from Rs. 14.27 lakhs, ex-showroom Chennai. The pick-up truck is assembled at Isuzu’s Sri City factory from CKD kits that are imported from Thailand.
The 2018 model is available in two variants – V-Cross and V-Cross High. The High variant is priced at Rs. 15.77 lakhs, and offers a lot more features than the regular variant. In terms of cosmetic changes on the outside, the 2018 V-Cross gets a new side step and a reprofiled tailgate with a chrome handle.
The V-Cross High model gets chrome detailing on the rear bumper, LED daytime-running lights and LED tail-lamps. The pick-up truck also gets a new obsidian red paint finish. Other colours available on the vehicle are – Orchid Brown, Cosmic Black, Titanium Silver, Obsidian Grey and Splash White.
In terms of additional interior features, the vehicle now gets a touchscreen infotainment system that also displays the reverse parking camera.The High model adds an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, leather seats, a multi-functional steering wheel and cruise control.
In terms of safety features, ABS and twin airbags are standard on the base model with the top-end variant getting ESP and traction control as additional features. Mechanically, both variants are similar. They’re powered by the 2.5 liter turbocharged diesel engine with 136 Bhp and 320 Nm. A 5 speed manual gearbox and the part-time four wheel drive transfer case are standard.
The V-Cross also features a shift-on-the-fly system for the 4X4 transfer case, which has low and high ranges. A wide range of after-market accessories and customizations are offered on the Isuzu V-Cross. This makes it a vehicle suitable for those who want something different, and also something that is extensively customizable to specific buyer needs.
