Mahindra and Mahindra today launched the much awaited 2018 Mahindra XUV500 facelift in India. The latest XUV500 carries several updates over the earlier model. Here is a detailed photo gallery of the new XUV500 facelift with all the official images –
The all-new 2018 Mahindra XUV500 features a comprehensively updated front fascia. It gets a pair of new headlamps, which carry a set of new projector headlamps and new DRLs. The refreshed SUV also gets a larger front grille that gets some tasteful chrome garnishing. The bumper has also been updated to complete the new look of the front.
The grille gets several chrome embellishments. This is something that we’ve also seen on cars like the Renault Lodgy and the Mercedes A-Class.
The side profile remains mostly the same. The only new bits here are the optional 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and the chrome garnishing the side cladding. The XUV500 also gets two new colour options – Mystic Cooper and Crimson Red.
The 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels are shod with 235/60-spec tires. The new alloys enhance the visual appeal of the side profile.
The rear-end gets the most comprehensive updates. The new Mahindra XUV500 facelift gets a set of triangular tail lamps for the posterior along with a new bumper and a new tailgate. The new tailgate has a bigger registration plate housing than the one on the pre-facelift.
The new tail lamps have a more angular look than the vertically-stacked tail lamps of the earlier model. It’s actually these taillamps that give the tail-end an almost new identity.
The interior gets a soft-touch material for the top of the dashboard. You also get a tan-leather upholstery and faux aluminum trim. All these changes make the interior fairly more upmarket than before.
The touchsceeen infotainment system comes paired with an Arkamys audio driver. Arkamys is known to offer innovative software and services in audio signal processing. Also, the infotainment unit can be used through a smartwatch app via Bluetooth.
The cabin of the Mahindra XUV500 facelift offers some new features that are usually found in much pricier cars. These include the tan leather seat covers with quilt-like stitching and electrically adjustable driver’s seat.
The XUV500 gets a more powerful engine. Basically, the earlier 2.2-litre motor has been given a new sixth-gen ECU and acceleration-controlled turbo. The motor now outputs a maximum power of 155 bhp along with a peak torque of 360 Nm.
The 2018 Mahindra XUV500 facelift is cheaper than its successor. The price difference is up to Rs 50,000, which makes the new SUV a great value for money due to the several new features and a more powerful engine.
