Italian sports and luxury car brand Maserati has just launched the Quattroporte GTS sports-luxury car in India. Prices of the car start from Rs. 2.7 crores, ex-showroom Delhi, and will vary based on the level of customization opted for by the customer. Maserati is owned by the Fiat Chrysler group, and a lot of technology on the Quattroporte GTS is derived from the group’s flagship brand – Ferrari.

The car will be offered to customers in GranLusso and GranSport trims, and will be imported from Italy as completely-built units (CBU) upon orders. The GTS is Maserati’s flagship car, and this explains the huge price tag it comes with. Globally launched in September 2017, deliveries of the 2018 Quattroporte GTS will begin from early 2018 in all the countries where the car has been launched, including in India.

The four seater car is powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharger equipped V8 petrol engine. The engine produces a peak power of 530 Bhp at 6,500-6,800 rpm while the peak torque of 710 Nm is produced between 2,250 and 3,500 rpm. The car is rear wheel driven and the transmission is a 8 speed automatic, sourced from German gearbox maker ZF.

The 2018 Quattroporte GTS is the fastest road-going Maserati ever built. The car is capable of accelerating from rest to 100 Kph in just 4.7 seconds. Top-speed is a supercar-challenging 310 Kph. Six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, adaptive LED headlamps, traction control and hill-hold assist are standard safety features offered on the car.

Other key features on the flagship Maserati include the 8.4” Maserati Touch Control Plus (MTC+) infotainment unit on the center console, which offers Navigation, vehicle information, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity, and in-car WiFi. The car is available with 2 stereo systems – a 900 W Harman Kardon 10 speaker unit that is standard, and a 15 speaker, 1280 W Bowers & Wilkins sound system that is an optional extra.
