After unveiling the 2019 Jeep Renegade facelift recently, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has now revealed details of the new 2019 Trailhawk version, which gets off-roading chops. It may be noted here that the recently updated Jeep Renegade has good chances of making it to India next year. Hence, even its Trailhawk variant might be launched here in the future. The refreshed Renegade carries a handful of minor cosmetic changes and new engines for the international market.
In comparison to the pre-facelift version, the 2019 Jeep Renegade facelift looks more upmarket and even more aggressive. It gets all-LED headlamps and a new grille. At the rear, the tail lamps have been updated and there’s a new door handle for the rear hatch. The only noticeable change in the side profile is the new set of alloy wheels. Moreover, the recently revealed Trailhawk trim also gets a dual-tone paint scheme, bolder bumpers, bigger wheels, a black anti-glare patch on the hood, and Trailhawk badges. Other than the new Trailhawk trim, the Renegade facelift will be also available in Sport, Longitude, and Limited trims.
The features list of the new Renegade Trailhawk includes premium features like a Uconnect infotainment unit that can be ordered with a 5-inch, a 7-inch or an 8.4-inch display. The system will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Trailhawk’s safety features will include Lane Sense Departure Warning-Plus, Forward Collision Warning-Plus, active emergency braking, and intelligent speed assist with traffic sign recognition.
For the international markets, the new 2019 Jeep Renegade facelift will be offered with three petrol engines – 120 hp-1.0-litre, 150 hp-1.3-litre, and 180 hp-1.3-litre. The refreshed SUV will also offer a new 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, whose technical specifications are yet to be revealed by the manufacturer. All of these are Multiair III turbo-petrol units. The SUV will even offer a couple of diesel engines in select markets. These will be 120 hp-1.6-litre, 140 hp-2.0-litre, and 170 hp-2.0-litre Multijet II turbocharged diesel engines. The more powerful diesel engines will be available with an optional 9-speed automatic transmission. Even a mild-hybrid version is said to be in the works. The Trailhawk will have 4×4 as standard. However, full specifications of the Trailhawk variant are yet to be revealed.
