Mahindra has unveiled the much-awaited all-new Thar in the Indian market today. The new SUV will be launched in the Indian market on 2nd October 2020. It will be available in two series – AX and LX. Here is a detailed picture gallery of all-new Thar.

The all-new Mahindra Thar AX series will be focussed at the customers who want a capable off-roader vehicle. It will come with an optional removable rooftop for the first time. Even the cabin is washable. Will only get a manual transmission with petrol and diesel variants.

The LX series will get all the creature comfort including standard front-facing rear seats. It will come with a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control system. Mahindra will offer this variant with a petrol-automatic, diesel-manual and diesel-automatic.

For the first time, Thar will get front-facing seats in the Thar. The AX variants will get side-facing seats as stock. However, customers will be able to choose front-facing seats when buying the vehicle. The LX series only comes with front-facing rear seats.

The rear seats are 60:40 split so you can store more luggage for the journey. The front-facing rear seats can hold two passengers.

The all-new Thar is based on the Gen3 platform. It comes with all-new suspension that will offer the best articulation possible in the segment, which will be useful during off-roading sessions.

The seats of the all-new Mahindra Thar are designed to hold the body in place even while doing extreme off-roading. This way, the occupants will not be thrown around when going on a trail.

It gets an all-new dashboard. The vehicle will come with a touchscreen infotainment system for the first time ever. Also, the climate control system is automatic. There will be a small information plaque on the dashboard giving the serial number of the Thar among other information.

Mahindra will offer a 6-speed automatic transmission with the all-new Thar. Both petrol and diesel engine options will get an automatic transmission.

The all-new Thar comes with roof-mounted speakers. It allows occupants to listen to immersive music and makes the cabin washable.
