2020 Auto Expo dates announced: 10 cars to watch out for!

Auto Expo, the biggest automobile event in India sees participation from the major players in the industry. The event takes place every two years and the organisers have officially announced the dates for the next event, which will take place from 7th to 11th February at Expo Mart, Greater Noida. Just like all other editions of Auto Expo, the next event will also see a number of exciting launches and showcases. Which are these launches and showcases that will be put up the manufacturers? Well, here ten cars that you need to watch for at the 2020 Auto Expo.

Mahindra Thar

The spy pictures of the next-generation Mahindra Thar that it is almost ready. However, even though it looks ready for us, there are a few hundred more things that the manufacturer would want to decide on the next-generation vehicle. Mahindra will showcase the all-new Thar at the Expo alongside many other vehicles. The next-generation Thar gets an all-new platform and looks very different from the current version. It will also get an all-new 2.0-litre diesel engine that is currently under development.

Tata H2X

Tata showcased the H2X concept at the Geneva Motor Show recently. Things do move at a faster pace at Tata and at the 2020 Auto Expo, we will get to see the production version of the car. It will be the entry-level SUV from the brand, which will take up position below Tata Nexon. It will be a crossover model, which is likely to go against the upcoming Maruti S-Presso and the already-selling Mahindra KUV100.

Hyundai Creta

Hyundai is working on the all-new Creta, which will get the platform that underpins the upcoming Kia Seltos. The ageing Creta will get a full model change and the spy pictures of ix25 from China, which may inspire the Indian model heavily. The Chinese-version ix25 gets sleek DRL at the top while the headlamp cluster is positioned in the bumper. The design is similar to the Hyundai Venue, which may inspire the all-new Creta in the Indian market too.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara

Now the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara has been ruling the headlines for a long time now. However, earlier this year the all-new model was spied testing in India for the first time. With the Vitara Brezza as a top-selling Utility Vehicle in the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki will enter the higher segment with the all-new Vitara at the Auto Expo. The new car will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Tata Harrier and will come powered only by a petrol engine option.

Tata Blackbird

Codenamed as Blackbird, this would be the next big project that Tata Motors will launch in the Indian market. The all-new SUV will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta and will be positioned between the Nexon and the Harrier in the market. It will make Tata’s SUV line-up complete as the brand will also launch the all-new 7-seater version of the Harrier, which will be the most-expensive and highest-positioned product in the line-up. The Blackbird will take some time to reach the production state but Tata will showcase a concept model at the 2020 Auto Expo. We all know how Tata loves to keep their production versions almost identical to the concept models.

Mahindra Scorpio

The good old Mahindra Scorpio is all set to become larger in size, aggressive in looks and more intimidating on the roads! Mahindra is working on the all-new model and it has been spied on the roads multiple times. The all-new Scorpio will be showcased in the 2020 Auto Expo and it will be very much different from the current-generation Scorpio in every aspect.

Kia Grand Carnival

The Korean manufacturer – Kia Motors will launch its first-ever product in the Indian market next month. After the launch of the all-new Seltos, Kia will bring the Grand Carnival, which will take on the models like Toyota Innova Crysta Touring Sport. The Grand Carnival will be a luxury MPV, which will come with a price tag of around Rs 25 lakhs! It will be the first seven-seater from the brand in the Indian market.

Honda City

There’s no doubt in the fact that the Honda City remains one of the most popular cars from the Japanese brand in the Indian market. The all-new Honda City is in works and it will look much more advanced than the current version of the car. The all-new City will look inspired by the Honda Accord and it will also get a mild-hybrid system, which will be launched in the Indian market too.

Honda Jazz

The first premium hatchback in the Indian market, the Honda Jazz will be launched in an all-new avatar and Honda will showcase the car at the 2020 Auto Expo. The all-new Jazz will also get hybrid technology like the City and Honda has already confirmed the launch of the model in the Indian market. Since the market is changing, Honda will keep ahead of the game with the hybrid technology in the mass-segment cars in India.

Hyundai Elite i20

One of the best-selling Hyundai products in the Indian market, the Hyundai Elite i20 takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno in the market. Hyundai is currently working on the all-new model and the same has been caught testing several times. The all-new car will be showcased at the Auto Expo and will be launched later in the year.
