Earlier this year, Hyundai launched the all-new Creta SUV in the market. It is a mid-size SUV that competes with cars like Kia Seltos, MG Hector and Tata Harrier in the segment. It quickly became popular and Hyundai has already received over 1.5 lakh bookings for this SUV. Hyundai is available with petrol and diesel engine options only. Hyundai does not offer a CNG fitted version of this SUV in the market but, here we have a video that shows an all-new Creta with fitted with an aftermarket CNG kit.
The video has been uploaded by cngMarutiautogas Cng on their youtube channel. The video does not show the installation part of this sequential kit. The video just shows all the components that are installed in the aftermarket CNG kit. The fit and finish of this set up looks very neat in the video. The injectors, reducer, filler valve, high pressure pipes are all installed in the vehicle very neatly. The video shows how the injectors, reducer and other components are neatly laid out under the hood.
This is probably, India’s first new generation Hyundai Creta to get an aftermarket CNG kit setup. Just like other CNG vehicles, the gas cylinder has been installed a the rear only. The kit installed on this Creta is Zavoli Bora S32 sequential kit. The video even shows the button to switch between petrol and CNG. It comes with gas level indicator as well.
installing CNG in petrol cars is a good option as it is cheaper than petrol and also returns good fuel efficiency. The only catch here is that, there are lot of vendors in the market who are installing low standard CNG kits which can be dangerous. If anyone is interested in getting their car converted from petrol to CNG, it is always a better option to get in touch with a dealer who is supplying RTO approved kits.
Manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki provide factory fitted S-CNG kits to avoid that risk. Even Hyundai is offering CNG option in some of their models. Coming back to Hyundai Creta, it is available with three engine options. One diesel and two petrol. Starting with the petrol, there is a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 115 Ps and 144 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with a manual and IVT (Hyundai’s name for CVT) gearbox option. The next is a 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol engine that is the most powerful in the lot. It generates 140 Ps and 242 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with a 7-speed DCT gearbox option only.
Third is the 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 115 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque. It is available with a manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox too. Hyundai Creta is available in various trim levels and number of genuine accessories are also offered at dealership level. Hyundai recently introduced E trim in the 1.5 litre petrol engine. Earlier E trim was only available with diesel engine option. The petrol E trim of Creta is now the cheapest Creta model one can buy.
