Hyundai, the second-largest manufacturer is in India is working on a range of upcoming products. One of these products would be the facelifted version of the Hyundai Verna, which is expected to be launched in early 2020. This will not be an all-new vehicle but it will be a major mid-life facelift that will make the Hyundai Verna look quite different from the current version. The upcoming vehicle was spotted in China by AutoHome, where the car is expected to launch soon and this is likely to be the same vehicle with minor changes that will be launched in the Indian market next year.
The images show the latest design language of Hyundai. The vehicle becomes very aggressive to at from the front. The major change in the facelifted Verna is the front grille. It is an all-black grille that takes up most of the space at the front.
The grille is uniquely connected to the all-new headlamps of the vehicles. The headlamps have three different housings stacked over each other. Each housing gets an angular chrome boundary that looks very premium. The headlamp gets the parking lamps, turn indicators and main headlamp beam with a projector. In all likeliness, the projector-beam is LED.
The bumper of the facelifted Hyundai Verna also looks very aggressive. It gets silver accents in the fog lamps that add to the overall looks of the car. The new facelifted car also gets a black diffuser, which makes the overall set-up quite sporty. From the side, the upcoming Hyundai Verna retains its shape and the window line. At the rear, the vehicle gets all-new tail lamps, which are connected to each other through a reflective red path.
It sure makes the car look very different from the current version. The rear bumper also gets a silver insert, which runs through the width of the black element of the car. There are also two types of alloy wheels that can be spotted in the pictures. One of the alloy wheels is likely to be from the top-end version while the lower variants will get the monotone alloy wheels.
Hyundai is likely to update the engines of the Verna to new BS6 compliant engines. It is quite possible that Hyundai may just the 1.5-litre diesel and 1.5-litre petrol engine options that will be debut in the Indian market with the Verna. Also, Hyundai may add a turbocharged petrol engine and introduce a hybrid powertrain. However, the engine options and specifications remain under covers for now. Hyundai will heavily load the all-new Verna will all the new-age features and will also offer a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options when the car gets launched in the Indian market.
