Mahindra launched the all-new Thar in the market earlier last month and have now started delivering it to customers. Thar has been an iconic SUV and has a huge fan following because of endless modification and customisation possibilities. It is a very capable off-roader and we have seen several videos of the same in the past. Mahindra is also offering a long list of accessories for all-new Thar and here we have a video that shows exactly that.
The video has been uploaded by Team Car Delight on their official youtube channel. The video starts by showing a Thar that is fitted with genuine Mahindra accessories. Starting with the front, it gets a front grille cladding that looks extremely good. The price of this new cladding is Rs 3715. Mahindra is also offering projector headlamps for Rs 10,000. Another accessory available with the all new Mahindra Thar is a bumper guard which is installed in the front. The whole car gets a chrome garnish kit at Rs 6,830. This includes garnishes for LED DRLs, around fog lamp, door handles, ORVMs, rear reflectors and tail lamps.
Mahindra is also offering an option to customer where they can buy original alloy wheel of Thar for their base model. Other regular accessories like rain visors, floor mats, steering covers, scuff plates are also installed in the SUV. Mahindra is offering so many accessories that one can easily convert his base model Thar into a top-end LX trim if needed.
touchscreen infotainment system, roof mounted speakers, puddle lamps are all available as an accessory. Mahindra is also offering accessories like rear seat entertainment screens, HUD, car refrigerator, rooftop tent, tow hooks and rope and many more accessories. Mahindra Thar is an all-new vehicle in comparison to the older version.
It now gets a factory fitted hardtop for the first time. it is wider and longer than the older version and has a decent number of features too. It is available in AX and LX trims and the prices for the Thar start at Rs 9.8 lakh, ex-showroom. Another new element that was included in the all-new Thar was a petrol engine. It is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 150 Bhp and 320 Nm of torque. There is a diesel engine on offer too. it is a 2.2 litre mHawk turbocharged engine that generates 130 Bhp and 320 Nm of torque. Both petrol and diesel engine options get proper 4×4 transfer case and are available with manual and automatic transmission options.
Waiting periods for the all-new Mahindra Thar has hit 8 months thanks to the unprecedented demand for the off roader. Mahindra has not stopped taking bookings for the AX Standard and AX trims. The automaker plans to boost production by a full 50 % from January 2021, producing 3,000 units a month instead of the current 2,000 monthly units. This measure is expected to bring down waiting times to more manageable levels.
