2021 Bajaj Dominar spied with touring accessories

Bajaj had a lot of expectations from the Dominar 400 when they launched the motorcycle in the Indian market. However, it was not able to gather the sales figures that the homegrown manufacturer was hoping for. So, Bajaj kept updating the motorcycle. Now, a new model of the Dominar 400 has been spied with touring accessories.

It is expected that the touring accessories will be sold alongside the motorcycle. The new model with the touring accessories was spotted at a dealership yard. In the video, we can see that the Dominar 400 is equipped with a windscreen that is much longer than the stock windshield. The new windshield will protect the rider from windblast while cruising on the highways. The windshield does look nice as it is designed for Dominar only. Before this, people were using after-market windscreens that looked odd.

There are knuckle guards to offer protection to the hands of the rider and to the brake and clutch levers. Also, they provide wind protection when riding on the highways. They can come in really handy during the winter season because the cold winds tend to freeze hands if the rider is not wearing proper winter gloves.

There is also a new skid plate installed below the engine. The skid plate would protect the engine from rocks or boulders if the rider is doing trails. The skid plate can get damaged but it can be replaced at a much lower cost than repairing the engine that gets damaged from the rocks.

There is also a small backrest for the pillion and a tail rack. The rack will come in handy when the riders would have to mount luggage. Another thing that we notice, are the two loops that can help in tying the luggage on pillion street. The rest of the motorcycle stays the same.

Earlier, also a Bajaj Dominar finished in Aurora Green colour was spotted with the new longer windscreen and the knuckle guards. However, at that time the information was sparse and there was no confirmation about the launch. Considering, that this time the motorcycle is spotted at a dealership yard, it should be safe to assume that the new accessories should get launched soon.

The Dominar has always been a great touring machine. It is comfortable and has a potent engine but because of its naked design language, the riders suffered from windblast. However, with the addition of touring accessories, the Dominar will attract more buyers and people would not have to opt for the after-market accessories.

Specifications

We do not expect Bajaj to make any changes to the engine of the Dominar 400. So, it will continue to come with a 373.3cc DOHC, a single-cylinder engine that is liquid-cooled. The engine is derived from the KTM Duke 390 and RC390. However, Bajaj has reworked the engine with its triple-spark technology and detuned it to make the power delivery more linear and friendly. The engine puts out 40 PS of max power and 35 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
