Skoda Auto India had showcased the 2020 version of their most luxurious sedan Superb at the Auto Expo. After a few months of showcasing the Superb sedan, Skoda officially launched it in the market. Now just after one of launching the facelifted version of Superb, Skoda is coming up with a 2021 version of the sedan. The Sedan is expected to be launched in the market later this month and has already started reaching Skoda dealerships. So the 2021 version does not get any cosmetic changes on the outside. The updates are done on the inside. The 2021 version of the Superb is expected to get features like 360 degree camera, wireless phone charging, Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Type C USB port, updated operating system for the touchscreen infotainment screen along with in built navigation. The instrument cluster has also been updated. The L&K version of Superb will also come with Skoda’s Virtual Cockpit.
Images of the upcoming 2021 version has already surfaced online and there are some cosmetic changes made to the interiors of the sedan. Just like the current model, it will be available in Sportline and Laurin & Klement variants. The Sportline will come with a flat bottom multi function steering wheel whereas the Laurin & Klement version will get a 2 spoke multi function steering.
Superb, like other Skoda cars has a very sharp design to it. It is without any doubt one of the best looking sedans in the segment. Skoda Superb gets the signature butterfly grille with chrome borders on it. The sleek LED headlamps with DRLs give it a premium look. The bumper of the sedan retains the same design with LED fog lamps with chrome garnishes around it. The images surfacing online are of the L&K trim and the Sportline would be getting gloss black inserts instead of chrome.
The side profile reveals the long bonnet and the body coloured ORVMs with turn indicators integrated in it. The roof has been blacked out and the premium looking 17 inch alloy wheels enhance the overall look. At the rear, Skoda Superb sharp looking LED tail lamps with Skoda branding on the boot. There is a chrome garnish connecting the tail lights on the boot as well. The bumper as earlier has a chunky feel with chrome garnish around the twin exhaust tips.
The Skoda Superb now comes with a petrol engine only. The Superb is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 190 Ps and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox as standard. Skoda had increased the prices for their product from 1 January 2021 and this new updated features list is to justify the price hike while maintaining the value for money factor. Skoda also unveiled the name of their upcoming SUV based on Vision IN concept. Production version of the SUV will be known as Kushaq.
