It seems like Maruti Suzuki will be updating the colour palette of the Ciaz. The new colour options have been leaked online and they are the same ones like the 2022 Baleno that will be launching later this month.
The new colours of Ciaz are Celestial Blue, Grandeur Grey, Opulent Red and Splendid Silver. It will also come with Prime Dignity Brown, Pearl Arctic White and Midnight Black. Maruti Suzuki will no longer offer the Ciaz with Nexa Blue, Magma Grey and Sangria Red.
As of now, we do not know what other changes will be done to the 2022 Ciaz. We can expect a new touchscreen infotainment system. The new system has been developed with Toyota and will debut on the Baleno Facelift. The infotainment system will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. We do not know if it will be wireless or not.
Other changes we expect are some minor changes to the interior. So, there could be a different upholstery and some new materials for the dashboard. However, all of this is just an assumption, it might happen that Maruti Suzuki just updates the colour options only.
Mechanically, the sedan is expected to stay the same. So, it will be offered only with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 105 PS of max power and 138 Nm of peak torque. The gearbox options will be a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Having said that, Maruti Suzuki will be replacing the ageing 4-speed torque converter with a 6-speed unit for some of its vehicles. Sooner or later, the new gearbox is expected to come to the Ciaz also. However, Maruti Suzuki might not change anything else on the sedan. They have done a similar thing when they replaced the 1.3-litre diesel engine with the short-lived 1.5-litre diesel engine but did not update anything else.
