Maruti Suzuki has finally teased the Ertiga Facelift. The manufacturer has opened pre-bookings and the launch of the MPV will be on April 21st. The changes to the most selling MPV will be cosmetic as well as mechanical. You can pre-book your new-gen Ertiga by paying Rs. 11,000 to a dealership or through the website.
Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “With over 750,000 delighted customers, Ertiga has been a game-changer in India’s MPV market. We are pleased to introduce the Next-Gen Ertiga, that redefines style, space, technology, safety, comfort and convenience of traveling together. The Next-Gen Ertiga will have thoughtful new age features, an upgraded powertrain and advanced 6-speed automatic transmission. We are confident that the Next-Gen Ertiga will further delight custom ers, offering them a more fuel-efficient, powerful, technologically advanced and stylish companion for long journeys together with their loved ones.”
Maruti Suzuki has updated the front-end design of the Ertiga. It now gets a new grille that we expect to see on more Arena products. The red paint shade also looks new. In the previous spy shots, Ertiga was using the same alloy wheels as the current one. We hope Maruti Suzuki updates them. The manufacturer might also update the bumpers. but the test mule that was spotted had the current bumpers.

The Ertiga will now come with a new 7-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system that will run on a new user interface that we have seen on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. It would support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There could be some changes to the interior as well. So, expect a new upholstery design, tweaked dashboard, revised instrument cluster and a new steering wheel.
Mr. CV Raman, Chief Technical Officer (Engineering), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Ertiga’s continued success in the market is a testament to its undisputed reign as one of India’s most loved MPV. The Next-Gen Ertiga has been elegantly designed and equipped with an all-new K-series efficient powertrain and modern features to deliver an enjoyable driving experience while ensuring the safety of loved ones. We are sure that the Next-Gen Ertiga will exceed customer expectations and continue to be the preferred choice of many more Indian families.”
Maruti Suzuki has chosen Ertiga to be the first vehicle in their line-up to get the new 1.5-litre K10C engine. The new engine will be replacing the existing 1.5-litre K10B engine. The new engine comes with Maruti’s DualJet VVT Technology which means that the number of injectors per cylinder has been increased from one to two. This gives better control over fueling. Not only does this help in improving fuel efficiency but also increased the power output.
The power output would be increased from 105 PS to 115 PS but we expect the torque output to stay more or less the same at 138 Nm. As standard, the engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The good news is that Maruti has finally decided to replace the ageing 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission with a new 6-speed torque converter unit. There would also be paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel to take manual control of the gearbox.
