Suzuki will unveil the new generation S-Cross on 25th November. However, the exterior of the new SUV has already been revealed because the SUV was spotted at a factory yard in Esztergom, Hungary. Here, we have some images of the 2022 S-Cross in high resolution.
We can see that the new design is a big departure from the old one. Where the current S-Cross looks like a crossover, the new one will have more of a SUV design. The exterior is now all new and it does look more attractive than the current one.

It seems like the dimensions of the 2022 S-Cross has also increased. So, expect better cabin space and more room for the occupants. It is not yet known which platform is the new S-Cross based on. The high-resolution images also reveal that the S-Cross might come with ADAS or Advanced Driver Aids System. We can see a couple of sensors in the lower half of the bumper. The ADAS features will include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking etc. Having said that, it is not yet known whether Maruti Suzuki will offer ADAS in India or not. We are expecting Maruti Suzuki to launch the new S-Cross next year.
Up-front we can see a new larger hexagonal grille that has two horizontal chrome slats. These chrome slats integrate with the headlamps. Speaking of the headlamps, they are all-new and they use LEDs. The LED Daytime Running Lamp will also have a new design. According to rumours, Suzuki will now be using Matrix headlamps. This technology uses individual LEDs that are independent of each other. So, they can turn on or off independently. There is a camera mounted in front of the SUV that can detect the oncoming traffic and turn off individual LEDs so that the oncoming traffic is not dazzled.
The bumper is all-new and looks more aggressive. The turn indicators are placed in the fog lamp housing. On the sides, there are new 5-spoke alloy wheels and plastic cladding to give a rugged look to the S-Cross. The tailgate has also been redesigned. It now comes with split tail lamps that have a clear lens. There is a bar that joins both the tail lamps. The bumper also has black plastic with a faux skid plate. We can see a rear wiper with a washer and a high mounted stop lamp.
Suzuki is expected to offer the S-Cross as a strong hybrid. The hybrid system is expected to be upgraded from a 12V system to a 48V system. The hybrid tech will help in improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions. It will provide various functions like torque-assist at low speeds, brake regeneration and idle start/stop.
The engine is expected to be the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 104 bhp of max power and 138 Nm of peak torque. There will also be a 1.4-litre BoosterJet petrol engine that produces 127 bhp of max power and 235 Nm of peak torque. The higher variants will also come with Suzuki’s AllGrip all-wheel-drive system. Till now, Suzuki has been using a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. We are expecting that they will finally upgrade to a new 6-speed torque converter unit.
