2022 Renault Kiger Turbo petrol in a walkaround video

Renault updated their compact SUV Kiger and launched the 2022 version in the market recently. The manufacturer has made minor changes to the car and added new features. The 2022 Renault Kiger has already started reaching dealerships and deliveries for the same has also commenced. Other than cosmetic changes to the car, Renault has also added a new RXT(O) variant to the Kiger. The price for Renault Kiger now starts at Rs 5.84 lakh, ex-showroom. Here we have a quick walkaround video of 2022 Renault Kiger turbo petrol variant that shows all the updates that the car has received.

In this video, vlogger shows the top-end RXZ Turbo variant. He starts with the front. The 2022 top-end turbo petrol variant gets a body coloured lower bumper lip. Coming to the side ptrofile, the top-end version gets 16 inch alloy wheels the same design but they now come with red coloured wheel hub caps. There are new decals that say ‘Turbo’ on the lower part of the door and also there is a chrome garnish on the boot.

The top-spec variants are now also available with wireless smartphone charger and cruise control. On the inside, the Renault Kiger now comes with an updated quilted emboss upholstery with contrast red stitching. The dashboard of the compact SUV will also feature red accents. Other than these updates, Renault now offers  a PM2.5 air purifier as a standard feature across the range. No other changes have been made to the compact SUV. Renault is offering a new dual-tone colour option of Mustard with Mystery Black Roof. This is a colour that is already offered on Kwid and Triber. Other than this, the top-end variant continues to get all LED headlamps, LED DRLs, touchscreen infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, Push button start/stop, automatic climate control and so on.

Mechanically the car remains the same. The newly added RXT(O) is available with the turbo petrol engine as well and it is offered with a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox option. Renault Kiger is a popular SUV in the highly competitive compact SUV segment. It competes with cars like Nissan Magnite, Tata Punch, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Toyota Urban Cruiser and Mahindra XUV300 in the segment.

Renault Kiger is available in two engine options in India. They are both 1.0 litre, three cylinder units. The only difference is that one of them gets a turbo and one does not. The 1.0 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine in Renault Kiger generates 72 Ps and 96 Nm of peak torque. It is offered with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine generates 100 Ps and 160 nm of peak torque. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The price for 2022 Renault Kiger compact SUV now starts at Rs 5.84 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 10.40 lakh, ex-showroom.
