2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift: New TVC released

Skoda Auto India launched the facelift for their flagship SUV Kodiaq in the Indian market recently. Price for the Skoda Kodiaq SUV’s facelift model now starts at Rs 34.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The manufacturer has made cosmetic changes to the Kodiaq to differentiate it from the pre-facelift model. The previous model was discontinued from the market due to BS6 emission norms. The 2022 version meets the current safety and emission norms. Bookings for Skoda Kodiaq has already started and the deliveries are expected to start soon. Skoda has now released a brand new TVC for the new Kodiaq SUV.

The TVC has been shared by Skoda India on their YouTube channel. The TVC shows some of the features that are offered with the 2022 Kodiaq. In India, Skoda Kodiaq rivals with cars like Citroen C5 Aircross, Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster. As mentioned above, Skoda has made some changes to the overall look of the car. Kodiaq looks fresh but, it has not lost its character. The front continues to get Skoda’s signature butterfly grille with chrome outlines. The headlamps are sleeker and are LED units. The bumper has been redesigned and it now looks a lot more sharper than the BS4 version.

The rear bumper on this SUV is also revised and the tail lamps are also all LED units.  Overall, the SUV has retained the sharp look on the outside. Skoda Kodiaq is available in Style, Sportline and Laurin & Klement varaints. These variants are priced at Rs 34.99 lakh, 35.99 lakh and Rs 37.99 lakh respectively (all prices ex-showroom). Skoda Kodiaq is a proper 7-seater SUV. It measures 4,699 mm in length, it is 1,882 mm wide and 1,665 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,791 mm. With all three rows up, Kodiaq has a boot space of 270 litre.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift: New TVC released

Moving in, Skoda Kodiaq offers a cabin that looks similar to the pre-facelift version. The cabin offer premium features like before. The Sportline version gets a three-spoke steering wheel and the interiors are finished in black. The other two trims gets beige colour interiors with Skoda’s new two-spoke steering wheel. The front seats offer heated and cooling function. Other features that it offers include wireless phone charging, new touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Premium 12 speaker set up from Canton, 360 degree camera, TPMS, 9 Airbags, panoramic sunroof, fully digital instrument cluster, 4 zone automatic climate control, umbrella holders integrated in the doors, front and rear parking sensors and many more features.

The pre-facelift model of Skoda Kodiaq that was available on sale was offered with a diesel engine. Just like in the case of other Skoda vehicles, Kodiaq also does not get a diesel engine. The previous model used a 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine. The 2022 model of Skoda Kodiaq uses a 20 litre TSI petrol engine that generates 190 Ps and 320 Nm of peak torque. The SUV is offered with a 7-speed DSG transmission as standard. Skoda is offering AWD system as a standard feature across all the variants. The facelifted version of Skoda Kodiaq had already launched in the international market last year.
