2023 all-new Hyundai Verna: The most accurate look at the upcoming sedan [Video]

The South Korean automaker Hyundai’s Verna has been one of the most revered monikers in its lineup ever since its launch. However, with the launches of new models from Japanese and German carmakers like Honda, Volkswagen, and Skoda the presence of Verna has been hampered. Hyundai Motor India has understood this and is working on the development of the new generation of the Verna as the existing model is due for a generation change. The test mules of the upcoming Verna have been spotted multiple times and with the culmination of these spy shots, the most realistic render of this sedan has been shared online.

The video rendering of the forthcoming mid-size sedan has been shared by Meet Bagrawala on their YouTube channel – Bagrawala Designs. Previously there have also been other video renderings of the 2023 Verna but none have been this realistic. The video begins with the front fascia of the car and shows the ginormous parametric grille of the sedan that has been taken from the flagship SUV Tucson. The sharp lines of the aggressive bumper can also be noted. A long LED DRL strip that spans from one end to the other is another one of the highlights of the front of the new 2023 Verna. The bonnet also boasts some sharp lines as well.

Moving on to the sides, the video shows some V-shape body lines that give the sedan an extremely aggressive look from the side profile as well. Overall the silhouette of the Verna is retained but it has become much sharper in details and boasts a higher waistline this time around. Additionally the car also gets a set of newly designed machined alloy wheels. Meanwhile at the rear the Verna also boasts an all-new design with its rear decklid being much more sharper than the outgoing model. The rear of the car gets a set of newly designed taillamps that also get a connected LED light strip that spans from one end to the other.

Overall the car looks very beautiful and will most likely be head turner and also give its competitors a stiff competition. Talking about the competition, to have an edge over the newly launched German and Czech sedans Virtus and Slavia, Hyundai India is planning to bring the all-new facelift of its Verna with a more powerful 1.5 TGDI turbo petrol powerplant that will produce segment leading power and torque.

According to reports, the company will be launching an all-new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol unit in India because the 1.4-liter engine currently powering the Creta, Seltos, and Alcazar won’t pass the new RDE norms under Phase II of BS6 transition set to happen before April 2023. The same engine will be offered in the 2023 all-new Verna as well. The exact details of this engine’s specs are not yet available. However, rumors suggest that it might be able to generate 260–265 Nm of peak torque and 160 PS of peak power. This engine could come mated with manual and DCT transmissions, sources claim. As for the features one of the biggest add on to the Verna could be the availability of ADAS.
