Hyundai has commenced deliveries of all variants of the all-new Verna at its dealerships across India. While most of the excitement around the new Hyundai Verna revolves around its higher-spec variants, there is also a considerable demand for the base-spec EX variant of the sedan. With a starting price of Rs 10.90 lakh, the Verna EX is a great option for those who want a large sedan at the price of a sub-compact SUV.
A YouTube video by Adi Zone describes all the features of the new Hyundai Verna inside and out, which seems to be parked in a dealer stockyard. On the outside, the new Verna EX misses out on all-LED lighting at the front. Instead, it gets a thin chrome strip in place of the long daytime running LED bar at the front. In place of all-LED headlamps, the Verna EX comes with a halogen projector setup for low beams and a pure halogen setup for the high beam.

The front profile of the new Hyundai Verna EX also comes with halogen turn indicators and a dark chrome grille. The side profile doesn’t get any alloy wheels but instead gets wheel caps for the 15-inch steel wheels. The turn indicators are not integrated into the rearview mirrors but on the front fenders. The new Verna also gets body-colored door handles and rearview mirrors and a halogen setup for the tail lamps.
Loaded cabin
Upon opening the driver-side door, one can spot switches for all four power windows and electrical adjustments for the outside rearview mirrors. The cabin of the new Hyundai Verna EX comes equipped with a decent number of features, with dual-tone black and ivory fabric upholstery. The list includes manual AC, MID controls on the two-spoke tilt-adjustable steering wheel, an analog instrument console with LCD MID, rear adjustable headrests, and a rear center armrest. The safety equipment list of the Verna EX includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, and reverse parking sensors.
This base-spec EX variant of the Hyundai Verna is only available with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 115 PS and a peak torque output of 144 Nm and has been retained from its predecessor version. In the higher-spec variants, this engine is also available with a CVT gearbox. There is also an option to choose the 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged 160 PS petrol engine, which is offered with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT gearbox.
