Just a few days ago, Hyundai Motor India released the official renders of the highly anticipated 2023 Verna. Well, in further advancement, we now get a real life look at the rear and front design of the this forthcoming mid-size sedan. Recently an undisguised 2023 Verna which is sold as the Accent in South Korea was spotted on the roads of Korea. The pictures give us an insight how this new sedan will appear in the real life.
Starting at the front, we can note that the upcoming Verna will boast the Hyundai’s newest Sensuous Sportiness design language which we have already seen on models like the Tucson, I20 and Venue. This new design language gives the front of the car a jewel-like parametric grille which has a massive presence at the front. It will also get a fairly aggressive front bumper.
Another unique element of the 2023 Verna’s front end will its split headlight setup. The LED headlamps will be positioned aside the grille and in a boomerang style element the fog lamps will be placed. Speaking of the unique elements the most distinct front end design feature on the 2023 Verna will be the connected LED DRL at the top of the grille. Although it may seem like a continuous strip it will be divided in three sections. There will also be a massive Hyundai insignia on the bonnet of the sedan.

Moving further, the most clear view of this recently spotted Verna was of its rear end. From the picture that surfaced online we can note that just like the front it will also get a connected strip of LED light which will spanning from one end to the other. Furthermore it will get a set of unique and sleek L-shaped LED taillights which we will specific to the Verna. Additionally, instead of ‘Accent’ under the Hyundai moniker at the rear the car in the India market will get the ‘Verna’ insignia.
No pictures of the interior layout of the new Verna were shared online but we can expect it to boast an all-new dashboard layout and addition of ton of connected car features. The most anticipated feature on the new Verna will the addition of the ADAS functionalities. The company will be borrowing the ADAS from the flagship SUV Tucson.
In terms of powertrain options Hyundai could be offering the 2023 with two engine options. The first will be a 1.5L naturally aspirated motor from the outgoing Creta that produces 115PS of power at 4000rpm and 250Nm of torque at 2700rpm. Meanwhile the other option could be a newer 1.5L turbo petrol motor that will be launched by Hyundai in order to comply with the new RDE regulations. As of yet the exact specs of this engine are not revealed but it could produce around 260-265 Nm of peak torque and 160 PS of peak power. This engine could also come mated with manual and DCT transmissions.
