The new visual teaser released by Kia India reveals the silhouette of a huge MPV, which is that of the fourth-generation Carnival. Several highlights of the MPV are visible in the teaser, such as the angular lines, squared-off stance, wide C-pillar, the diamond pattern for the ‘tiger nose’ grille, projectors integrated into the corners of the grille, sleeker main headlamp assemblies and prominent character line on the side profile. The new Carnival looks more striking, larger and SUV-ish.
Apart from the all-new exterior design, the upcoming fourth-generation Kia Carnival also gets a completely revamped cabin. There are two 12.3-inch full-TFT displays placed beside each other – the one behind the steering wheel for the instrument console and the one in the centre console for the touchscreen infotainment system.
The new Carnival, with its 5156mm length, is now longer than the model it replaces, with it getting a longer wheelbase and rear overhangs, indicating that it will be even more spacious than the outgoing model. For the Indian car market, the new Carnival is expected to be offered in seven and nine-seater configurations and will get retain all the premium features from the current model, and more, like ventilated front seats, wireless chargers and ADAS.
New Carnival launch later this year
Apart from the all-new Carnival, which is expected to go on sale officially in India in the second half of 2023, Kia will also showcase the EV9 electric-SUV concept. This new large, full-size SUV concept will pave the path for a production-spec all-electric flagship SUV, which will be positioned above the current flagship, the Telluride. The facelifted version of the Seltos will also be there on the display, which will come to India before the festive season.
In addition, Kia has also confirmed that it will put the all-new three-row Sorento SUV on display. The Sorento, which is Kia’s equivalent of the Hyundai Santa Fe globally, is currently in its fourth-generation version which was unveiled in 2020. Kia is evaluating the Sorento for the Indian car market, and based on the responses and evaluation, it might launch in India shortly.
