2023 Kia Seltos Facelift: Official TVC released [Video]

The Indian subsidiary of South Korean automaker Kia, Kia Motors India Private Limited, recently launched the newest iteration of its top-selling mid-size SUV, the Seltos, in the country. The brand-new model has undergone substantial changes both on the outside and the inside, and now offers some new creature comforts that were missing in the previous generation model. Most recently, the company released a new TV commercial (TVC) showcasing the agility of the all-new Kia Seltos.

The official TVC for the 2023 Kia Seltos has been shared on YouTube by Kia India on their official channel. In the latest TVC, the Seltos can be seen being followed by what appears to be a killer drone. The video begins with the killer drone shooting lasers at the Kia Seltos, which is being driven aggressively through an abandoned city. The video seems like a scene taken from a sci-fi movie where killer drones attempt to destroy people and objects, and in this case, the object is the brand-new Kia Seltos.

In the official TVC, the car can be seen maneuvering in a haphazard manner, trying to evade the killer drone. Meanwhile, the video also showcases the all-new car from both the outside and the inside. At times, the car even manages to outsmart the drone. Towards the end, the man driving the Seltos steps out, followed by a woman wearing a VR controller. It can be inferred that the drone was being controlled by the woman, and after the man stops, he takes charge of the drone while the lady drives the Kia Seltos. This TVC is one of the most unique ones we have seen so far.

Speaking about the car itself, Kia India recently launched the highly anticipated Seltos facelift, bringing forth a host of exciting updates to the popular SUV. The exterior changes are immediately noticeable, with a larger grille that commands attention and revised all-LED headlamps featuring stylish daytime running LEDs. The front bumper has been redesigned to accommodate the radar for the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), while the fog lamp housings have been updated.

Moving to the rear, the SUV showcases new LED tail lamps connected by an eye-catching LED light bar, accompanied by a redesigned rear bumper that distinguishes the Tech-Line and GT-Line variants. Stepping inside the cabin, one is greeted with significant changes and an array of modern features. The dashboard has been revamped and now boasts a new fully digital cockpit, with two 10.25-inch screens for the instrument console and infotainment system. A first-in-segment feature, the lower center console incorporates a new panel for the dual-zone automatic climate control, adding to the comfort and convenience.

Kia has gone above and beyond in terms of features, equipping the new Seltos with dual-zone auto AC, a full-TFT instrument console, a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a powered driver’s seat. The cabin offers a luxurious touch with leather upholstery, while safety is prioritized with six airbags and an ADAS suite encompassing 17 autonomous safety features.

Under the hood, the Seltos offers a range of engine options. The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers 115 PS of power, while the 1.5-liter diesel engine offers the same power output along with greater torque. The new 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, borrowed from the Carens, impresses with 160 PS of power. Transmission choices include manual, iMT, torque converter, CVT, and dual-clutch automatic.
