2023 Maruti Suzuki Fronx compared with Baleno [Video]

maruti baleno vs maruti fronx

We are all aware that the soon-to-be-launched Maruti Suzuki India Limited crossover, Fronx, is based on the brand’s Heartect platform, which also underpins the premium hatchback Baleno. Therefore, it makes sense to compare both Maruti siblings side by side. This YouTuber has compared both vehicles and shared a video on their channel to save us all the trouble.

Anubhav Chauhan shared the video comparison of both Maruti Suzuki siblings on their channel. The video starts with the YouTuber introducing both vehicles. After that, he mentions that both cars come equipped with the same 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine from the company. He adds that the main difference between the two models is that the Delta variant onwards in the Fronx lineup also comes with a 1.0-liter Boosterjet turbo petrol engine. He also mentions that both vehicles come with manual and automatic transmission options.

Moving on, he states that both vehicles offer two very distinct styles from the outside. The Baleno is a premium hatchback and is smaller than the Fronx, which is bigger and offers more of a coupe style. He then shows the front fascia of the cars and states that the Baleno gets a set of LED headlamps with LED DRLs integrated into them. It also gets LED fog lamps as well as a smaller front grille. The Fronx, on the other hand, gets a larger grille and split headlight design. The LED DRLs that also function as turn indicators are housed on top, and instead of the fog lamps, it gets LED headlamps. He adds that both cars get 360-degree reverse cameras.

Following this, he moves on to the side profiles of the cars and mentions that both cars get 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, but the designs are different. He then shows the rear-view mirrors with cameras and states that both get identical mirrors. He also points out one unique detail that the Fronx does not get chrome handles like the Baleno; instead, it gets body-colored door handles.

The YouTuber adds that neither car has the option for a sunroof. He then moves to the rear of the car and states that he prefers the coupe-like styling of the Fronx over the Baleno. He adds that the Baleno gets a bigger 318 liters of boot space, meanwhile, the Fronx gets 308 liters of boot space.

He then shows the interior of the cars and mentions that both have almost the same interiors and features. Both come equipped with features like a wireless car charger and faux leather. The 9.0-inch free-floating SmartPlay infotainment system that also gets connectivity options like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is the same in both cars. There is an automatic climate control system as well. The cars also offer steering-mounted controls and six airbags.
