Much has been talked about Maruti Suzuki’s point of view on safety for its vehicles in recent times. However, India’s largest car maker wants to affirm its stand on offering paramount safety for its products for India, and the Fronx is one of the latest offerings to offer that vision.
According to Maruti Suzuki, the new Fronx has already been tested for aspects like front offset impact, full frontal impact and side impact tests in-line with international safety norms. While Maruti Suzuki has made this claim on its official website of its NEXA channel, the carmaker hasn’t disclosed the results or NCAP safety rating yet.

The all-new Maruti Suzuki Fronx, which has been unveiled as a direct rival to the likes of compact SUVs like Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet, is a whole new attempt in the crossover SUV segment from Maruti Suzuki. Based on the Heartect platform shared with the Baleno premium hatchback, which is designed with Suzuki’s Total Effective Control Technology (TECT), the Fronx gets a comprehensive suite of safety features.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx safety features
In the Fronx, Maruti Suzuki is offering safety features like front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, ISOFIX mounts for child seats and pedestrian protection compliance. In addition to these elements, the new Maruti Suzuki Fronx will also come with premium safety features like a 360-degree parking camera, head-up display, hill hold assist and electronic stability program.
Further safety and security in the Maruti Suzuki Fronx are ensured by three-point ELR seat belts, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror and Suzuki Connect telematics system. Available in other offerings from NEXA, the Suzuki Connect offers features like breakdown notifications, emergency alerts, stolen vehicle notification and tracking, geofence, immobilizer, safe time alert and many more alerts.
In the recent past, while the Vitara Brezza scored an impressive four-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests, many other offerings from Maruti Suzuki didn’t meet the same fate. However, with the Fronx, Maruti Suzuki is expected to take safety to a new level. To be offered with two engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated 90 PS petrol and a 1.0-litre turbocharged 100 PS petrol engine, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is up for bookings at all the NEXA dealer outlets across India. The deliveries of the Fronx, which will be positioned between Baleno and Grand Vitara in NEXA’s lineup, are expected to begin in the coming weeks.
The cabin of the all-new Fronx gets a dual-tone theme with steering, an infotainment system and an instrument cluster similar to the Baleno. You also get features like a wireless car charger and faux leather. The 9.0-inch free floating SmartPlay infotainment system also gets connectivity options like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
