In a bold move within the electric mobility space, Tata Motors has unveiled a heavily updated version of its best-selling electric vehicle, the Nexon EV. The all-new Tata Nexon EV will officially go on sale on September 14th. However, Tata Motors has released a video on its social media handles that describes all the significant changes introduced in the new electric vehicle.
The video begins with a glimpse of the revised front fascia of the new Tata Nexon EV, which features a new lighting structure and split headlamp assembly. The upper part of the fascia includes two sleek bi-functional LED DRLs with a connecting LED light bar in between them. This light bar serves as a daytime running LED with a smart digital welcome feature and a smart digital charging indicator representing the level of battery charge while charging. The LED DRLs at the corners also function as sequential turning indicators, while the vertical headlamp assembly positioned on the corners of the front bumper now includes LED projectors. The lower front bumper and lower housings of the headlamp feature new vertically-running angular inserts.

At the back, the revised X-themed tail lamps and an LED connecting light bar with a smart welcoming feature from the ICE version of the Nexon have also been incorporated into the new Nexon EV, along with the revised rear bumper. The side profile of the new Nexon EV showcases new 16-inch alloy wheels with aero inserts.
Updated cabin
The video then highlights the heavily updated interior of the new Nexon EV, which now features an all-new cabin shared with the ICE version of the Nexon. The new Nexon EV boasts a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and a full-TFT 10.25-inch instrument console with revised display modes behind it. The center console now houses a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is larger than the new 10.25-inch system offered in the petrol and diesel versions of the SUV.
The video also showcases that the new Tata Nexon EV is equipped with a physical control panel with touch-sensitive buttons for automatic climate control, a new smart transmission lever, and front and rear USB Type-C charging ports. It also features leatherette seats with ventilation function for the front seats, 60:40 split rear seats, a rear armrest with cup holders, a voice-assisted electric sunroof, a wireless charger, an air purifier with AQI display, smartwatch connectivity with ZConnect connected car app, and a 9-speaker JBL audio system with a subwoofer.
To provide a more convenient driving experience, the new Tata Nexon EV offers a high-definition reverse camera, multi-drive mode (city, sport, and eco), navigation display in the instrument console, multi-mode regeneration through paddle shifters, a blind spot view monitor, and an SOS call function. The Tata Nexon EV meets high safety standards by offering six airbags as standard, along with all four-wheel disc brakes, hill ascent and descent control, a 360-degree surround view system, ESP, hidden rear wiper, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and an auto-dimming IRVM.
Quicker than before
The video also reveals that the new Tata Nexon EV claims to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds, thanks to the new 106.4 kW (145 PS) electric motor. It also boasts a revised maximum driving range of 465 km with the new battery offered in the Long Range variant. Another noteworthy feature introduced in the new Nexon EV is the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging.
Tata Motors will launch the new Nexon EV on August 14th in three trim options – Creative, Fearless, and Empowered, across two versions – Medium Range and Long Range. The Medium Range version will feature a 129 PS battery and a 30 kWh battery with a claimed range of 325 km, while the Long Range version will come with a 145 PS battery and a 40.5 kWh battery offering a claimed range of 465 km.
