Launched in 2021, the Mahindra XUV 700 was an instant hit in the Indian market. Offering first-in-class features such as level 2 ADAS and smart door handles, it was a great value-for-money product. The XUV 700 is available in 4 main trims, with the MX being the base, available at a price of Rs. 13.99 lakhs, and the AX7 Luxury Pack being the top, priced at Rs. 26.99 lakhs. Today, we are going to learn about the MX trim in detail with the help of a YouTube video uploaded by ‘MRD Cars.’

The video begins with the exterior of the car. The lack of LED headlamps and fog lamps is evident. The headlamp setup is reflector-based with halogen lamps. The grille of the SUV is finished in gloss black with silver accents instead of chrome accents. Notably, front sensors and cameras are missing, which is a feature available only in higher variants.

The absence of alloys can be seen on the side. The MX variant comes equipped with 17-inch steel rims. The ORVMs are finished in gloss black with integrated indicators. They are electrically adjustable but not electrically foldable. Even though it is the base variant, Mahindra has still offered flush door handles instead of traditional ones.

On the rear, two parking sensors, halogen tail lamps, and LED indicators are visible. The company does not provide the rear wiper, defogger, and reverse camera in this variant.
The interior of the SUV is spacious and feels excellent for a base variant. Amenities in the rear seat include two AC vents and a type-C charger.

Coming to the dashboard, the SUV comes with a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which the steering-mounted controls or the touch screen can control. This screen delivers output through four speakers; tweeters are absent in this variant.

The instrument cluster, the same as the top model of Scorpio N, comes with two traditional dials for RPM and speed along with a coloured digital MID (multi-information display), which shows numerous things. Auto AC and leatherette seats are not available in this variant. The XUV700 is available in 5, 6, and 7-seat configurations. The variant shown in the video is the 5-seater version.

The XUV700 offers two engine options: a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine churning out 200 horsepower with 380 Nm of torque and a 2.2-litre diesel engine delivering 185 horsepower with 450 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, providing a smooth and powerful driving experience.

The XUV700 also boasts several drive modes, including Zip, Zap, Zoom, and Custom, allowing you to tailor the car’s performance to your driving needs and preferences. The XUV700 prioritizes safety with a 5-star Global NCAP rating.

It comes equipped with plenty of safety features, including six airbags, driver drowsiness detection, a 360-degree parking camera, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking. However, many of these features are unavailable in the base MX trim.
