All New 2024 Maruti Swift: Longer TVC Out

Swift launched

With the launch of Swift 2024, Maruti Suzuki launched a 30 second TVC for the car. But now, the brand has uploaded a new 70 second TVC on their official YouTube channel to showcase the 2024 Swift in a more detailed way.

The new TVC starts with an alarm going off. Notably, the tagline has been kept the same which is Time To Go Swifting! Similar to the previous TVC, this one also features Ananya Pandey. The actress gets up from the bed, texts her friends Time To Go Swifting and unwraps the car. Similar to the shorter TVC, major parts of the hatchback are highlighted such as all-new taillights & headlights, alloy wheels and front grille.

After the first scene, the actress sits in the car highlighting its key features such as a 9-inch touchscreen and push button start. The actress is soon joined by two of her friends in their own Swift. Driving around the town, the TVC shows the sporty character of the car. The most significant update, which is the engine, is also highlighted in the TVC.

In the last scene, the 2024 Swift is celebrated by people standing in front of old generations of the Swift. Overall, the TVC showcases the major changes of the car and highlights its sporty nature.

Regarding the changes, the 2024 Swift has been updated completely. The front bonnet, bumpers and fenders are redesigned. The grille has been changed to glossy black with honeycomb pattern. On the side, the hatchback now features a bold shoulder line which adds character. The door handles have been moved to the traditional position. The rear profile highly resembles the 2023 Swift but some minor refreshment along with new taillights has been done.

The interior of the car has been completely redesigned along with a new color theme. The car offers key features including a 9-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker Arkamys audio system, automatic AC with rear vents, wireless phone charging, cruise control, push-button start/stop, and connected car tech.

Apart from the exterior cosmetic changes and a redesigned interior, the Maruti Suzuki Swift has changed mechanically. The hatchback is now powered by a 1.2-litre three cylinder engine instead of a 1.2-litre four cylinder engine. This new engine delivers 80 BHP and a torque of 112 Nm. The transmission options are the same as the old Swift which includes a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic manual transmission (AMT).

The refinement and power may have gone down in the three cylinder engine but its mileage is its main highlight. The brand claims mileage figures of 24.8 km/L for the manual and 25.87 km/L for the automatic version for the 2024 Swift. On the other hand, the 2023 Swift had a claimed mileage figure of 22.38 km/L.

The concerns regarding safety and build quality in the new Swift are still not clear. Maruti has offered multiple new safety features such as six airbags (standard), ABS with EBD, electronic stability programme (ESP), rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. However, crash test results are still awaited. In the Indian market, the Swift competes with the Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
