The production version of the Tata Harrier electric SUV was revealed – and All Wheel Drive was present!
For those of you have been complaining about the lack of All Wheel Drive in the Tata Harrier, this would come as bittersweet news. All Wheel Drive is finally here. But it appears in the soon-t–be launched electric Harrier, and not the regular diesel Harrier!
The country’s third-largest carmaker, Tata Motors, at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo, showcased its upcoming Tata Harrier EV in the final production format. The company has displayed this new flagship electric SUV with a completed exterior and interior. Now, a video showing the design and powertrain details of this upcoming electric SUV has been shared online. It shows the complete exterior and interior of the car, talks about what can be expected with this new all-electric Harrier EV.
This video of the detailed walkaround of Tata Harrier EV comes courtesy of Bunny Punia from YouTube. It starts off with the presenter standing in front of the booth where the Tata Harrier EV was parked. He stated that the first-ever concept of the Tata Harrier EV was shown a few years ago, and now, finally, the company has showcased a near-production model. He states that most likely, Tata Motors will launch this SUV in the second half of this year, and it will be soon coming to the showroom floors.
2024 Tata Harrier EV: Exterior design
Following the introduction, the presenter then starts the exterior walkaround at the front of the SUV. He states that the Harrier EV, which will be the brand’s second model based on the Acti.ev platform, will have a bold front end. The overall design has been kept the same as the ICE Harrier. However, it will now come equipped with a new closed-off grille and a new design on the lower section of the bumper. Rest assured, it will continue to boast the same LED headlights and connected LED DRLs on the front.
After this, he moves to the side profile of the car, and before that, he states that the car at the show has been shown in the new seaweed green color. He then states that over the standard Harrier, the EV version gets an aero blade-style wheel with dual-tone colors and a closed-off design. The side profile also gets EV badges on the doors. He then moves to the rear end of the car and mentions that the rear has been kept the same as the ICE model but it gets a new Harrier EV badge on the tailgate.
2024 Tata Harrier EV: Interior design
Following the exterior design, the presenter then shows the interior of the car. The Harrier EV will get the same interior layout as the ICE model, but the colors will be slightly different. He shows the EV model will also get a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and a flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and all the bells and whistles from the standard ICE model.
2024 Tata Harrier: Drivetrain
In the same video, the presenter talks about the powertrain of the Harrier EV. He first shows the battery pack, which was hanging a little lower underneath the car. He states that although the company has not revealed the exact specifications of this engine, it can be noted that it will be a big battery pack and could offer a range of around 500-600 km in a single full charge. He also shows the rear axle-mounted electric motor and states that the top-spec variants will most likely come with AWD configuration while the lower trim variants could come with RWD or FWD configurations.
