Let’s first discuss the engine itself, it is a 650 cc unit that uses fuel injection. It has a four-valve head and uses a SOHC setup. The engine is able to produce 47 PS of max power and 52 Nm of peak torque. The engine is using an oil cooler along with fins for air-cooling. Royal Enfield is using a 270-degree crank for that unique rumble and a balancer shaft to minimize the vibrations. This engine is one of the smoothest in the class and can easily hold up speeds in excess of 120 kmph. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed slick-shifting gearbox that comes with a slip and assist clutch. Below are the motorcycles that will be using the same engine.

The Super Meteor will be a cruiser type motorcycle. You can consider it as a larger and more muscular version of Meteor 350. According to the rumours, the Super Meteor will be unveiled at EICMA 2021 in Milan, Italy. The dates of EICMA are 25th to 28th November. It has a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, forward set footpegs, a wide handlebar and a large split seat. It is also the first Royal Enfield motorcycle to use up-side down forks from the factory. Super Meteor also comes with blacked-out alloy wheels and a blacked-out engine casing. As of now, it is not known which chassis is Royal Enfield is using. It can be a beefed-up version of the Meteor’s chassis or a new one. We are expecting the launch of Super Meteor to happen sometime next year.

Royal Enfield is also working on an adventure touring motorcycle that will be an adventure tourer. It will look a lot like the current Himalayan. So, expect it to have a design of function over form. The ground clearance of the motorcycle will be good and it will also have an up-swept exhaust. Royal Enfield will not call it the Himalayan 650 because it will not be as capable as the Himalayan 411. Instead, it will be a soft-roader. There will be two variants on offer. One will come with alloy wheels and will be positioned as a sports tourer whereas the spoked rims version will be positioned as an adventure tourer. The front wheel will measure 19-inches in size, whereas the 411 Himalayan’s front wheel measures 21-inches. It is also expected to come with a TFT screen, ride by wire, multiple riding modes, traction control and Bluetooth connectivity. The new motorcycles are expected to launch by the last quarter of 2023.
