4 new affordable compact SUVs launching next month: Honda Elevate to Citroen C3 AirCross

Four new contenders, each with its unique design, features, and powertrains, are poised to make their debut next month, capturing the attention of enthusiasts and practical buyers alike. Citroen C3 Aircross

The French automotive giant, Citroen, is all set to unleash its newest creation, the Citroen C3 Aircross in India. This mid-size SUV, slated for launch in the coming month, carries the legacy of the brand’s striking design and distinctive aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from its hatchback siblings, the C3 and the all-electric eC3, the C3 Aircross retains a fresh and modern appeal. Noteworthy design elements include a completely revamped front bumper, muscular wheel arches, and the brand’s signature Y-shaped LED headlamps.

Inside, the C3 Aircross offers a spacious cabin with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 5-seater and 5+2-seater configurations cater to varying needs, while the boot capacity remains a generous 444 liters and 347 liters, respectively. The forthcoming Citroen C3 Aircross will come equipped with a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 110hp and 190 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

Honda Elevate

Honda’s eagerly awaited midsize SUV, the all-new Elevate, is slated to come as a huge challenger to the likes of the highly popular Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. Bookings for this new Honda SUV have already commenced, with enthusiasts eagerly anticipating its launch next month. Exuding a bold and upright stance, the Elevate boasts features like LED projector headlamps, a 360-degree camera, and Honda Sensing advanced driver-assistance systems.

Powering the Elevate is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine generating 121 PS power and 145 Nm torque. The choice between a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox offers a tailored driving experience, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ensure seamless connectivity.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor

In an intriguing strategic move, Toyota Kirloskar Motor India is gearing up to introduce the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, signaling a potential re-entry into the sub-4-meter SUV segment. Building on their collaboration with Maruti Suzuki, this model is expected to bring a fusion of design cues, combining the strengths of both brands.

Most likely this new crossover SUV from Toyota will feature the same exterior design as the Fronx but will get some minor changes on the front and rear to differentiate from its Maruti counterpart. This new badge-engineered model will most certainly be offered with the same engines as the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The engine options will include a 1.0-liter BoosterJet engine and a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, both paired with manual and automatic transmissions.

Tata Nexon Facelift

Last but not least the facelifted iteration of the highly popular sub-compact SUV from Tata Motors the Nexon facelift will most likely also make its official debut in the next month. Tata Motors will be leaving no stone unturned as it revamps its best-selling Nexon compact SUV. The impending Nexon facelift is primed to retain its crossover charm while incorporating notable refinements in both front and rear profiles.

Key updates on the forthcoming SUV will include a split headlamp arrangement, fresh alloy wheel designs, and an upgraded interior. Engine options will feature a revised 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and the existing 1.5-liter diesel engine, with a new 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission enhancing the driving experience.
