5 Cars launching in March 2022: Toyota Hilux to Maruti Ertiga Facelift

2022 is here and we have already seen some new launches from automobile manufacturers. There will be some big launches in March too. Today, we list down 5 cars that will be launching in March 2022.

Toyota Hilux

People were waiting eagerly for the launch of the Hilux pick-up truck. The details of the Hilux was revealed in January but the prices will be announced in March. Hilux will come with a single 2.8-litre diesel engine that is also doing duty on the Fortuner. It produces 204 PS of max power ad 500 Nm of peak torque. It will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The torque output will be limited to 420 Nm on the manual gearbox. There will be two variants on offer namely, High and Low. A 4×4 system will be standard on both variants.

Toyota Glanza

Maruti Suzuki launched the Baleno Facelift in February. Now, Toyota will be launching the Glanza in March. It will get a slightly different set of diamond-cut alloy wheels and from the leaks, we can see it gets a different LED Daytime Running Lamps. Mechanically, it will stay the same as the Baleno Facelift. So, there will be a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine that produces 90 PS of max power and 113 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.

MG ZS EV Facelift

MG will be updating the ZS EV Facelift this month. It is expected to launch on March 7th. The ZS EV will now be based on the MG Astor. The 2022 ZS EV will come with a larger 51 kWh battery pack instead of the 44.5 kWh battery pack that is doing duty on the current ZS EV. The exterior and the interior has been revised and now looks more modern.

Volkswagen Virtus

Volkswagen has announced that they will be unveiling the Virtus globally on March 8th. However, the India launch will happen in the second half of May. Virtus will be replacing the Vento in the line-up but will be positioned higher. It will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform. There will be two turbocharged petrol engines on offer. There will be a 1.0-litre TSI that produces 115 PS and 178 Nm and a 1.5-litre TSI that produces 150 PS and 250 Nm. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard on both engines. The 1.0 TSI will get a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox whereas the 1.5 TSI will get a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Facelift

Maruti Suzuki is working on a facelift of the Ertiga. It will be a mild facelift and the test mules have also been spotted on the roads. They reveal that the only cosmetic upgrade will be the new front grille. There will be no change to the engine. So, it will be a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated unit that produces 105 PS and 138 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be offered as standard.  However, according to some media reports, the Ertiga Facelift will come with a new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission that will replace the ageing 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
