One of the most premium hatchbacks in the country is the Hyundai i20, which has always lured many buyers. This little hatch is loaded with features and looks amazing as well. It is one of the rare hatchbacks in India that offers a sunroof, which is available with the Asta 1.2 variant, the top-of-the-line variant of this model. This model costs Rs 9.1 Lakh (ex-showroom). The Hyundai i20 is offered with three engines: a 1.2-liter, naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-liter diesel engine, and a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine.

Next up on this list is another vehicle from the South Korean automaker Hyundai Motors India, the Hyundai Venue. Since its launch, the Venue has been one of the top sellers in its sub-compact SUV segment and is known for being a value-for-money SUV. It comes packed with creature comforts and is offered with several petrol and diesel powertrain options. The Venue offers a sunroof starting from the SX 1.2 Petrol variant, which starts at Rs 10.93 Lakh.
Mahindra, the leading manufacturer of utility vehicles in the country, also offers a sub-compact SUV in the highly competitive segment, the XUV300. The model starts at Rs 8.41 Lakh; however, the model with the sunroof is the W6 1.2L petrol variant and is priced at Rs 10 Lakh. The model is one of the best value-for-money vehicles in the country and offers a ton of road presence and features. Recently, Mahindra launched the XUV300 TurboSport variant as well. This variant comes powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder mStallion turbocharged petrol engine, which produces a maximum power output of 130 PS and a peak torque output of 230 Nm.
The South Korean automotive giant Kia, the sister brand of Hyundai, also offers its sub-compact SUV, the Sonet, with a sunroof. The model is equivalent to the Venue in Kia’s lineup, and both the SUVs are built on the same platform, using almost the same components as well. The option for the sunroof in the Kia Sonet starts with the HTK Plus 1.0 iMT variant and costs Rs 10.49 Lakh. Currently, the Sonet comes with three engine options: a 1.2L NA petrol engine, a 1.0L turbo-petrol engine, and a 1.5L diesel engine. It also comes with a variety of gearboxes, including a 5-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 7-speed DCT, 6-speed MT, and 6-speed AT.
The top-selling sub-compact SUV in the country, Tata Nexon, takes the crown as the most affordable sub-compact SUV in India to be offered with a sunroof. Tata Motors offers the sunroof in the Nexon with the XM (S) variant, which costs Rs 9.39 Lakh (ex-showroom). The Nexon is one of the best-selling products in the entire Tata lineup, and soon the SUV is set to receive a huge facelift. According to recent reports, the Nexon facelift will be launched in August of this year. The SUV will receive a major overhaul on the exterior and interior. It will most likely feature an all-new front fascia and a rear end as well. The dashboard layout and infotainment screen will also be updated in the forthcoming model.
