5 new cars that Tata Motors will launch in 2023: Blackbird to Harrier EV

Tata Motors is known for making sturdy car and SUVs in India. Lately the manufacturer has been gaining popularity in the electric vehicle space as well. Tata Motors now has decent number of vehicles in their portfolio and in the year 2023, it is expected that Tata will come up with few new products and also update the existing line-up. Here we have a list of 5 Tata vehicles that are expected to be launched in the market in 2023.

Punch EV

Punch is Tata’s entry level SUV in the market. Like other Tata products, it is also very popular among buyers for its muscular looks and build quality. The SUV had scored 5 star ratings at Global NCAP crash test and is one of the safest cars in the segment. Just like Nexon EV, Tiago EV and Tigor EV, Tata will be launching an electric version of the Punch in the market as well. It is expected to be launched in the market sometime next year. It will use the same Ziptron technology as other Tata EVs and is expected to offer a claimed driving range of over 300 km.

Harrier Facelift

Tata Harrier is one of the popular SUVs in the segment. It has been in the market for three years without any major update in terms of design. The mid-life facelift for the Harrier is expected to be launched in the market next year. Testing for the Harrier facelift is currently going on and there are reports that suggest Harrier would be offered with features like ADAS. Tata might introduce a petrol engine in Harrier and Safari in future but, the facelifted version would continue to get the 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine only. The front-end and rear of the SUV are likely to get cosmetic changes.

Along with a facelift, Tata is also working on electric version of Harrier. Tata knows that fuutre of mobility is electric and as of now, they have the advantage. To strengthen their position in the EV space, they will launch the Harrier EV in the market next year. In comparison to the ICE version, the Harrier EV would get AWD system as well. An year after they launch Harrier EV, Tata would also bring in the electric version of Safari in the market.

Safari Facelift

Just like Harrier, its elder sibling Safari is also expected to get an update in 2023. Updates like ADAS, bigger touchscreen infotainment system, connected car features along with cosmetic exterior changes are expected to be seen in Safari as well. It would continue to get the 2.0 litre diesel engine and would offer the same manual and automatic transmission option.

Blackbird

The last car in the list is the Blackbird SUV. Tata is expected to launch this SUV in the market next year. It will be a mid-size SUV which will be placed below Harrier and will compete with cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq in the segment. It is expected to come with a 1.2 litre turbo petrol and 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine. Tata might even introduce electric version of Blackbird SUV in the market in future.
